​Recently, the Provincial Steering Committee for Construction of Agriculture, Farmers, Rural Areas and New Countryside Construction held a workshop to collect comments on the draft set of criteria on new countryside construction in the period 2021-2025 of the province. The province's draft new countryside criteria for the 2021-2025 period has 19 criteria and 60 targets, an increase of 7 targets compared to the previous period; increase 2 targets compared to the Central. The set of advanced new countryside criteria includes 19 criteria, 76 targets, an increase of 22 targets compared to the previous period; increase 1 target compared to the Central. The set of model new countryside criteria must meet some additional regulations such as: having at least one smart hamlet model; the percentage of households that classify domestic solid waste at source reaches 90% or more; the percentage of households using clean water according to regulations reaches 90% or more, from the centralized water supply system from 70% or more...

The comments and discussions were mainly about difficulties in implementing criteria such as: classifying waste at source; rate of water use from centralized water supply system; some remote communes find it difficult to achieve per capita income in newly raised rural communes, modeled according to new criteria... It is suggested that Dong Nai province should also divide into purely agricultural areas, mountainous and urban areas to make appropriate criteria. In addition, localities expect relevant departments and branches to implement guidance on the implementation of specific and timely criteria; at the same time, it is necessary to issue supporting policies for criteria that are difficult to implement.
