Provincial planning must meet 3 requirements

At the meeting, two of the consulting units presented the Dong Nai province planning consultancy plan roadmap for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.

Specifically, McKinsey & Company Vietnam Co., Ltd (a unit of McKinsey & Company and Company-USA) has launched a project plan to prepare a planning report for Dong Nai Province, including 5 phases including data and diagnosis, planning report preparation, agreement, adjustment, consultation, and approval.

Meanwhile, the Joint Venture of Roland Berger Company (Germany), Institute of Development Strategy - Ministry of Planning and Investment, Dat Viet Group Joint Stock Company, National Institute of Urban and Rural Planning - Ministry of Construction, Institute of Strategy and Transport Development - The Ministry of Transport, the Vietnam Institute of Irrigation Science- Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (Roland Berger joint venture) also launched a roadmap for planning Dong Nai Province with 2 phases including making plan and approving plan. According to the plan of the Roland Berger joint venture, the planning goal of Dong Nai Province must be consistent with the national socio-economic development strategy for the period of 2021-2030; develop quickly and sustainably on all three pillars of the economy, society, and environment; closely combine socio-economic development with the assurance of national security and climate change; ensure national, regional, local and people's interests; attach importance to the economic development of regional linkages, especially the economic development quadrilateral in the South.

At the meeting, both consulting units highly appreciated the development potential of Dong Nai. With its location in the center of the Southern Key Economic Zone, Dong Nai has many advantages for socio-economic development. In particular, in the coming time, when major infrastructure projects such as Long Thanh International Airport, ring roads, and highways are completed and put into operation, the development potential of Dong Nai Province will even further increase.

According to Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Cao Tien Dung, currently, the Prime Minister has approved the task of planning Dong Nai Province during the period 2021-2030, vision to 2050. Therefore, the province is also selecting a qualified unit for planning. Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Cao Tien Dung highly appreciated the capacity of both consulting units when participating in consulting on making many plans in localities throughout the country. At the same time, it is suggested that the units need to clarify several issues such as specific implementation plans, contract implementation costs, planning time for the Provincial People's Committee to report to the Standing Board of the Provincial Party Committee for selecting the consulting unit.

Speaking at the meeting, Party Central Committee Member and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Linh said Dong Nai is looking for partners to implement provincial planning to promote its potential and comparative advantages in the best way. In order to do this, Dong Nai needs a consultant to build a sustainable development model in the future that is not only economically prosperous but also have the best living conditions for the people. Places that have the best conditions for people's lives must be used to serve people. The quality of people’s life, their happiness in the future are very important. At the same time, the potentials of Dong Nai must be exploited in the most effective way to serve society. The three planning requirements set by the province are economic value, serving people value and exploiting all of potentials effectively.
