In recent years, the start-up program in the province has had an encouraging development in order to create a premise to form an ecosystem and community of start-up businesses, taking advantage of the potential and advantages of the locality to develop.

Dong Nai is a province located in the Southern Key Economic Zone with tens of thousands of operating businesses. Many foreign-invested enterprises are in high demand of domestic supporting products, so it is a very favorable opportunity for the start-up projects with scientific and technical contents to deploy. With the large population and located near the neighbouring Ho Chi Minh City, a large market for manufacturing the goods of enterprises, many centers, research institutes, scientists, etc., all are available for start-up enterprises to consult and study.
According to the Vice Chairman of the Southern Advisory and Startup Support Council, the Director of the S Furniture Joint Stock Company Huynh Thanh Van, there are few localities with advantages like Dong Nai Province. “With the large population and neighbouring Ho Chi Minh City, a largest market in the whole country, the products of the enterprises in general and the products of start-up enterprises in particular have many opportunities to reach the consumers. In addition, Dong Nai Province is located in the most vibrant economic development region in the country. Particularly, the province has had tens of thousands of enterprises and more than 30 Industrial Zones with demands for the supporting industrial products. This is a very favorable condition for new and creative start-up ideas, especially for young people to have a place for using their abilities" - Mr. Huynh Thanh Van said.
For the provincial government, Dong Nai Province has identified the private economy as an important motivation for the province's development in the coming time. Dong Nai Province has currently had many important infrastructure projects, notably the Long Thanh International Airport. This project will contribute to the creation of hundreds of thousands of related jobs with new products and services compared to traditional developments, so it will create the opportunities for local enterprises and entrepreneurs to take the opportunities and start-up. The mutual support between the local authorities and enterprises will motivate to build a growing business community.
Seeking solutions for start-ups
According to the Vice Chairperson of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang, in the period of 2020 - 2025, Dong Nai Province has aimed to promote the development of science, technology and creative innovation. To achieve the goal, the enterprises must take the key role to build and deploy the research, application and creative innovation programs based on achievements of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. These are necessary factors to create the breakthroughs in productivity, quality, efficiency and competitiveness of the enterprises. Striving to 2023, 30 more innovative startup projects, 05 science and technology business incubation projects, 03 science and technology enterprises will be supported and developed, bringing the province's start-up index up 20%.
In parallel with building a start-up ecosystem, in a broader perspective, Dong Nai Province is gradually improving the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI), striving to enter the top of the whole country. In fact, the business environment of Dong Nai Province has become more and more open in order to create the conditions for the appearance of many enterprises and business associations. In particular, in the immediate period, the task of supporting the enterprises to restore their production and business, and limit the adverse effects of the epidemic have been even more urgent.
With the immediate task, the Director of the Department of Science and Technology Lai The Thong said that the Department will continue to fully complete the missing elements in the province's start-up ecosystem. That is to build a co-working space at the Department, connect with the universities to form the facilities for experimentation and testing to build the sample products, complete, support and promote the formation of funds, and organize many activities in order to create the capital and finance for start-ups.
