Transportation Enterprises have actively taken measures to overcome immediate problems such as reducing incurred costs.

According to Bien Hoa train Station, Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company has just stopped short-haul trains to localities because of have few passengers including: SPT2/SPT1 Saigon - Phan Thiet, SNT1/SNT2 Saigon - Nha Trang, SE22/SE21 Saigon - Da Nang. Thong Nhat trains from Saigon to Hanoi and vice versa, instead of 5 pairs of trains daily as before, it will be cut 3 pairs, there’s only 2 pairs. Passengers who have suspended train tickets, contact the station before departure time to refund without fee or change to another time.

In addition, the Rail industry will apply a fare discount program for passengers who purchase tickets many days before the traveling date and depending on the number of days and distance of transportation. For SE trains, the discount is from 5-50%/ ticket depending on the distance of the trip and the time of booking. For TN trains, discount from 5-30% lower than SE trains.

Meanwhile, Deputy Director of Public Transport Management and Operation Center (Ministry of Transport) – Mrs.Do Thi Hai Phuong said that revenue and operational efficiency of bus routes are low due to fewer customers. However Public Transport Management and Operation Center has implemented many measures, requesting enterprises and cooperatives to enhance the maintenance, repair and upgrading passenger transportation by bus.

In addition to further improving the quality of service, attracting people to return choosing bus, the prevention and control of epidemics also continues to be strengthened. The Public Transport Management and Operation Center will strengthen inspection and supervision. Bus companies must strictly require assistant driver, drivers, passengers to wear masks on bus, they will not be transport if don’t wear mask. Each person needs to raise awareness of epidemic hygiene on bus to avoid spreading the disease in the community.

According to the Ministry of Transport, since the outbreak in 2020, the Ministry has issued more than 100 documents directing agencies and units of the Ministry to focus on solving difficulties and problems for enterprises in the Transport industry; synthesize and report to the Government the damage caused by the Covid-19 epidemic and propose solutions to overcome difficulties for Transport enterprises.

For roads, the Ministry of Transport directs and guides localities and transport units to reduce the number of trips/ turns or propose to suspend operations to minimize damage; statistics the difficulties and problems of localities, transport units and bus stations to propose to competent authorities for removal. For Railways, Maritime, inland waterways, the Ministry has also had similar support policies.

In the coming time, the Ministry of Transport will continue to study to repeal and simplify regulations on business conditions, reducing logistics costs; fully and thoroughly implement the business conditions reforms implemented in previous years. Continue to implement comprehensive reforms of management, specialized inspections and connection of the National Single Window. Promote implement e-Government and provide level 4 online public services. At the same time, listen and acquire opinions on the specialized management field, propose proposals to handle difficulties and problems of people and businesses.

Regarding this issue, Deputy Director of Department of Transport – Mr.Duong Manh Hung said that up to now, measures to support Transport enterprises are still implemented according to the solution of 2020. Tax exemption and reduction policies for passenger transport units, especially cooperatives and individual business households; banks reschedules debts, extends debts and exempts and reduces the vehicle investment interest rate in passenger transport units such as buses, taxis, fixed routes, contract vehicles transporting workers and students.
