Proconco Celebrates its 20th Anniversary of Foundation

The anniversary was attended by Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee Vo Van Mot; Vice Chairmen Dinh Quoc Thai and Tran Minh Phuc; Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Kinh Tan.

Proconco started as an animal feed joint venture between Vietnam and France with a production capacity of 17,500 tons per year.

Up to now, Proconco has had three more factories, seven subsidiaries and joint ventures and a system of agents that supply animal feed throughout nationwide provinces and cities.

In 2010, Proconco had a production of 1.2 million tons, and a turnover of nearly VND10,000 billion (or US$476.53 million).

Proconco with its continual efforts is ranked among the world’s 50 biggest animal feed manufacturers voted by the International Feed Journal. Proconco takes the 35th place among Vietnam’s 500 largest enterprises and is honored as an “Excellent animal feed manufacturer”, and “The best animal feed manufacturer in Asia in 2010”.

Proconco was also awarded many certificates of merit by the central ministries and sectors and by Dong Nai People's Committee.

Proconco awards VND450 million (or US$21,441.1) for charity foundations in Dong Nai

Addressing the anniversary, on behalf of Dong Nai People's Committee, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee Tran Minh Phuc congratulated Proconco on its 20 years of foundation and development.

The domestic economy and the world economy are faced with complicated changes.

- Vietnam economy’s inflation is likely to rise.

- There are a lot of fluctuations in raw material prices.

- Weather conditions continue to be unpredictable, which causes diseases on plants and animals to break out and exerts a big impact on business and production activities, especially on livestock industry.

 Therefore, to develop and make livestock a consumer goods industry and to meet domestic needs for consumer foods and export needs, Proconco needs a good business strategy that is adaptable to the growth of the livestock industry.

- It is necessary to put an intensive investment in new technologies to increase competitiveness.

- It is necessary to put forward saving solutions to help reduce production costs and offer competitive prices on the market.

- It is necessary to do research into how to increase the percentage of domestic raw materials used in production.

- It is necessary to consolidate and strengthen domestic and international market share, to build and develop the company’s brand into one of the leading ones in the animal feed industry.

On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, Proconco offered VND450 million (or US$21,444.1) to the For-the-Poor Fund of Dong Nai Fatherland Front Committee, and to Dong Nai Newspaper and Dong Nai Radio and Television’s Charity Fund.
