Over 130,000 hazard-based cosmetic items destroyed

​Inspector of the Department of Health checks the number of cosmetics in the warehouse before being destroyed.

The number of administrative offences material evidences belongs to M.X.S.G Company Limited (Thong Nhat Ward, Bien Hoa City).

Accordingly, in mid-April 2019, Dong Nai Provincial Police Investigation Agency sent a document to the Department of Health to request assistance in determining the list of banned substances for Sibutramine and Phenolphthalein. Exhibits that the police detained include 2 types of products, including finished Go Slim Hot Body Massage Cream Collagen products. On July 13, 2020, the PC03 Department transferred the violating records on the regulations on the cosmetic business of M.X.S.G Co., Ltd. to the Department of Health inspector, including 130,900 boxes of fat burning cream, finished Go Slim Hot Body Massage Cream Collagen products.

On August 4, 2020, the Inspector of the Department of Health worked with representatives of M.X.S.G Co., Ltd. on this issue. Through the meeting, such company’s representative confirmed that they had the following violations: insufficient contents on product label as prescribed by law; cosmetic trading with the incorrect formula with the approved publication records; wrong features and uses on labels with the inherent nature of product.

On August 19, 2020, the competent authority issued a decision to sanction an administrative violation against M.X.S.G Company Limited with the amount of VND 160 million, while requiring this Company to destroy all 130,900 boxes of Go Slim Hot Body Massage Collagen Cream. The entire cost of the destruction is covered by said Company. Dong Nai Department of Health also petitioned the Health Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health to revoke the cosmetic product proclamation receipt number 003702/18/CBMP-HCM issued by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health on August 2.
