Localities to complete clearance of North - South expressway in June

According to the report of the Ministry of Transport, the eastern section of North-South Expressway project, beforehand,  is investing in 11 component projects with a total length of 654km passing through the territory of 13 provinces (Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien - Hue, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Dong Nai, Tien Giang and Vinh Long) with a total investment of approximately VND 118,716 billion, of which 3 projects are funded by public investment, 8 projects in the form of Public–private partnership (PPP). The ground clearance fund is about VND 12,400 billion with the recovered land area of more than 4,800 hectares, the project is required to resettle 3,690 households and relocate technical works.

Up to now, the progress of ground clearance is nearly 70%, the Ministry of Transport has also proposed the provinces to hand over the entire ground for the project by the end of the second quarter of 2020, and this is also the task of huge capital disbursement for public investment of the eastern section of North-South Expressway project. The provinces should review and make a detailed schedule to implement the completion of ground clearance volumes to meet the general progress in June this year and accurately determine the actual ground clearance fund for the Ministry of Transport to have a basis for additional handling of funding; expeditiously complete procedures for building the remaining 82 resettlement areas in the second quarter of 2020; coordinate with owners and use of technical infrastructure works (electricity, telecommunications and water) to complete surveys and approve the early compensation plan on relocation of works to hand over the ground as scheduled.

In Dong Nai, the project goes through the districts of Xuan Loc, Cam My, Thong Nhat and Long Khanh City with a length of 51.5 km, of which passing 29 km through Xuan Loc district. Currently localities such as Cam My, Thong Nhat and Long Khanh City have basically completed the ground clearance work (reaching 91%), Xuan Loc district is also focusing on implementing compensation procedures and is expected to complete the task according to the schedule of the Ministry of Transport.
