Industrial production value in the first quarter of 2006 reaches 11,118 billion VND.

 The industrial production value of central state-owned enterprises reaches 1,553 billion VND, local state-owned enterprises 538.2 billion VND, non-stated owned enterprises 1,501 billion VND, foreign invested enterprises 7,526 billion VND.

Production values of Agriculture and food processing industry is calculated to reach 3,030 billion VND, increasing by 33% against the same period of last year. This is the sector which has the highest growth rate. Textile and garment industry reaches 2,609 billion VND, increasing 25.9% against the same period of last year. The increase of textile and garment industry thanks to the increase of quota to U.S market and the operation of some textile and garment enterprises such as Bride &  Co Company, Janice Company, Asian Garment’s Company etc. However, this industry finds it difficult to fulfill processing contracts with foreign partners due to the lack of employees.  

With the increasing prices of some basic materials such as gas and fuel, the price of some industries such as ceramic and bridge also go up. Therefore, the products of these industries are less competitive in the market. The reduce of tariff on some imported products in accordance to the roadmap to reduce tariff will have bad effects on some industries such as automobile and bicycle manufacturing and assembling which are forced to reduce its output due to low consumption.

Despite difficulties of some industries, the industrial production value of Dong Nai province in the first quarter of 2006 increases 16.62% against the same period of last years, fulfilling 22.1% of the year target.
