According to the report conducted Provincial Peoples’ Committee, in the first 5 months of 2005, provincial industrial production value is estimated to reach 16,687 billions USD, made up of 41.49% of the year plan, 19% higher than that of the same period of last year. The most significant thing over the last 5 months is that many products of state-own, non-state own and foreign investment company had high increment. The production value of food and drink processing industry increases over 30%, tobacco industry 24%, textile and garments industry 32%, wood processing industry 51%, chemical industry 20%, furniture and computer industry 42%...etc. However, having been in difficult to consume products the industrial production value of some sectors has decreased lower than that of the same period last year. Especially, the electric industry of central state-owned sector had decreased 11% and some other industries of non state own and foreign sector had decreased 2-3%.

The production value of agriculture, forest and aquiculture achieved some remarkably results in the first five months of the year. Up to May 10, the total cultivated area of the winter – spring crop were 33,109 hectares, made up of 88% of the year plan. Main plants of this crop are expected to obtain high yield and these will be increased higher than those of the same period including rice of 46.55 quintals per hectare, corn of 59.16 quintals per hectare, tobacco of 8.68 quintals per hectare etc. With regard to breeding capacity of agriculture, quantity of the local pigs increased higher 17% than that of the same period. Quantity of the local oxen was higher 11% than that of the same period. In addition, the export turnover of local enterprises has reached up 1,199 millions USD, 28% higher than that of the same period last year. This consists of 19.2 millions USD of central enterprise, 67.5 millions USD of local enterprises and 1,112 millions USD of foreign invested one.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Vo Van Mot reminded all departments to check the target and plan of the year as to find out better solutions for speeding up the provincial economic and social growth rapidly in rest months of this year, especially to achieve the target of 2005 set by the provincial authorities.
