Impressive growth of the agricultural sector

In 2021, the agricultural sector faces many difficulties, but the GRDP growth of agro-forestry-fishery products will still reach 3.01%, higher than the national average and one of the two localities to achieve a high level in the Southeast region. In particular, three out of five targets exceeded the targets assigned by the resolution, including: the number of newly improved rural communes, the model new rural communes and the target of the percentage of rural households using clean water. Specifically, up to now, the whole province has 65 out of 120 newly improved rural communes, 8 model new rural communes, 100 OCOP products with 3 stars or above.

In cultivation, the cultivated area decreased, but thanks to the application of scientific advances to production and reasonable crop restructuring, the output of main crops increased. Livestock production continues to develop towards large-scale farms. Especially during the year, the program "Agriculture sector in Dong Nai unites, shares the experience to prevent the epidemic" and coordinates with sectors and localities to synchronously deploy many solutions to support businesses, cooperatives and farmers in process of harvesting, transporting and consuming agricultural products in the context of being affected by the Covid-19 epidemic and restoring production.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Phi highly appreciated the achievements and efforts to overcome difficulties of the agricultural sector, which have made an important contribution to the province's general socio-economic development. The industry structure has shifted in the right direction and clearly, from width to depth. The sector promptly advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue mechanisms, policies, programs, and projects to implement the 2021-2025 plan goals, especially the breakthrough goals in agriculture according to the Resolution set by the Provincial Party Executive Committee. Proposing to reduce and simplify administrative procedures, upgrade online public services at levels 3 and 4, exceeding the assigned targets.

According to Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Phi, 2022 is an important year, creating a foundation for the implementation of the socio-economic development plan for the period of 2021 - 2025. The agriculture sector cooperates with other sectors, localities implement a number of key tasks and solutions, including: Developing hi-tech agriculture, organic agriculture associated with processing industry and consumption market; concentrate resources on developing agricultural and rural infrastructure in association with new rural construction; promoting investment promotion activities in the fields of agriculture and rural areas etc.

In particular, the agricultural sector should promote the application of information technology in forest management and forest fire prevention; in livestock management statistics; in disaster prevention, searching and rescue; in building smart new rural communes as well as in promoting and connecting the consumption of agricultural products, especially the key and typical products of the locality.
