Implement social distancing according to the Directive No.16 in 19 Southern provinces and cities

Document of the Prime Minister asking provinces and cities to implement the social distancing according to the Directive No.16 of the Prime Minister.

Specifically, the provinces applying the Directive No.16 include: Ho Chi Minh City, provinces of Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Can Tho, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Tien Giang, Long An, Vinh Long, Dong Thap, Ben Tre, Hau Giang, An Giang, Bac Lieu, Soc Trang, Tra Vinh, Ca Mau and Kien Giang. Previously, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai Provinces and Binh Duong Province had implemented the social distancing according to the Directive No.16.

 For provinces and cities that are applying the social distance measures before the issuance of this document, based on epidemic developments and results of epidemic prevention and control in the area, the Chairman of the provincial People's Committee shall proactively and promptly report to the relevant authorities before deciding whether to continue implementing the distanced time as decided or to extend the distance as mentioned in the additional provinces and cities mentioned above.

The Prime Minister requested ministries and central agencies to actively and closely coordinate with localities to strictly and effectively implement the Directive No.16, paying attention to ensuring supplies, equipment and medical human resources, especially the doctors, medical staff, medical staff; ensure security, safety, social security, to take care of the people both mentally and physically, do not let any people lack food, clothing or essential necessities; pay special attention to improving treatment efficiency, prioritizing resources for severe cases.

The Prime Minister also requested that during the implementation of social distancing, localities have to strictly and resolutely do not let the situation "tight outside, loose inside"; clearly define the contact people and responsibilities of each agency, organization, individual and level of government, especially the political system at the grassroots level.

Strengthen inspection, supervision, and urge the strict implementation of the directives of leaders, requirements on distancing of personal-to-personal, family-to-family, crowded gatherings are not allowed.

Ensure the best security, social order and safety; ensure safe production and circulation of goods within the province, city and other localities; only allow production and business activities for companies that satisfy requirements and regulations on epidemic prevention and control; prevent the situation of too abundant or lack of goods, traffic jams.

In the context of urgent epidemic prevention and control due to the complicated and unpredictable development of the new type of Delta virus, the Prime Minister called on the people and business community to promote the spirit of national unity and self-reliance; share, support, respond and seriously implement The Directive No.16, which allows people to go out of the house only in cases of really necessary and implement 5K principle, in Vietnamese: Khau trang (facemask)- Khu khuan (disinfection)- Khoang cach (distance)- Khong tu tap (no gathering) – Khai bao y te (health declaration).
