Gia Kiem Company makes intensive investment for expanding production

Initially, almost all started with only a few employees, backward technology or outdated equipment that could only produce dried fruits and canned vegetables and fruits such as dried banana, dried jack fruit to serve residential customers in the province of Dong Nai. At that time, the company also received many claims made by customers resulting from low quality products.

In order to meet the growing demands for processed fruits and vegetables, Gia Kiem Company decided to invest over VND 300 million in the renewal of technology and new equipment to boost its production capacity and improve the quality of products. Besides, the company also diversifies its product offerings for leading food companies including Vinamik, Vifon, Dielac and so on with dried fruits and vegetables and powdered fruits such as dried spring onion, cabbage and carrot etc. Now, Gia Kiem company is still supplying dried fruits and canned vegetables and fruits to Hau River Farm (Sohafarm) such as dried banana, dried jack fruit and canned pineapple and canned Rambutan …  

Director of the company Nguyen Xuan Dong emphasizes that thanks to extensive investment in facilities to expand its production capacity and enhance its competitiveness in the market, the company wins the confidence and trust among its customers through offering high-quality products at competitive price. Dong says that the company’s expansion plans are necessary to expand company’s market share, maintain stable consumption and create long-term jobs for local labors. In the previous time, due to an ineffective investment strategy, the company didn’t get a foothold in the market. Presently, Gia Kiem company continues to improve the packaging designs and quality of its products and develop new products in order to attract more customers. In the next time, the company will invest in frozen line of products which will meet extremely high standards for taste and quality. Although the company’s current chartered capital is only nearly VND 1 billion, the company records a turnover of VND 10 billion per annum. The figure is not large compared to other agricultural product processing companies in the province, but the company’s leaders has made significant efforts to find output for selling agricultural products and create jobs for the local unemployed. This year, the company’s output and revenue are targeted to grow by 10 per cent from the 2005 figure.
