Financially support for 22,000 freelance laborers who lost their jobs due to the Covid-19 epidemic

As of August 13, the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs has reviewed and submitted to the Provincial People's Committee making a decision to support more than 48,000 freelance laborers who do not sign a labor contract and have lost their jobs due to the impact of the pandemic with an amount of over VND72 billion. In which, the Provincial People's Committee has issued an approval decision for 46,000 employees with a support amount of nearly VND69 billion. Up to now, localities have paid 22,000 freelance laborers with the amount of VND33 billion.

Regarding the support for employees to suspend labor contracts and take unpaid leave, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has reviewed and submitted to the Provincial People's Committee making the decision to support 08 units employing 68 laborers with the amount of over VND230 million, of which the Provincial People's Committee has issued a decision to support 04 units employing 38 laborers with an amount of nearly VND103 million. Beside that, regarding support for laborers in medical quarantine areas (F1) due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs reviewed and submitted to the Provincial People's Committee for a decision to support 461 people with an amount of over VND516 million.
