Delegations of Japan with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, forestry, fishery, enterprises and represent the Japan Union of National Agricultural Cooperatives has worked with Dong Nai Province on investment, high-tech agriculture development.

Dong Nai wishes to cooperate with Japan in the transfer of plant and animal breeding; cultivation technology, postharvest storage technology ... The Japanese companies are also interested in investing in agriculture in Dong Nai.

* Towards high technology

Dong Nai provinces is known to thrive in the industry, mainly attracting FDI enterprises in general and Japan enterprises's in particular investment in the industrial sector. Especially the model associated with farmers to develop high technology agriculture.

Mr. Phung Khoi Phuc, Deputy General Director of Dong Nai Food Industry Corporation (Dofico), said Agro-industrial complex of Dofico (Agropark) has attracted 4 investment projects, including pig farm projects; banana export project (doing nurseries and tissue culture room); corn planning project, grass-fed cattle; Dairy farm projects with a total area registered of 500 hectares. In particular, the dairy project in subdivisions in Xuan Tam (Xuan Loc district), the enterprise will link farmers to expand area planted grass and dairy. Thereby, building material area supplied milk to the processing plant of the company. Agropark are looking forward to the Japanese investor interest.

Mr. Pham Van Sang, Director of the Department of Science - Technology introduced that Dong Nai Center for Applied biotechnology (Cam My District) have positioned both in terms of road, sea and air (the Long Thanh international airport is being deployed) to attract investors. The center has attracted many companies to invest in the manufacturing plant and animal breeding of high technology applications and have good export products; build fertilizer factories from agricultural waste products; model of cultivation of vegetable, fresh fruit GlobalGAP certification; cannabis ...The center has tested grown successfully many varieties of vegetables and fruits in the membrane of Japan and looking forward to cooperating exporting these goods to Japan. Because if there is a market, the center will be linked, delivered similar techniques to farmers expand planting area of vegetables and fruits in the membrane to export. Dong Nai is also eager to cooperate with Japan to develop varieties of agriculture and forestry.

* Japanese businesses interested in agriculture

Mr. Yasuo Nishikawa, Secretary of Minister of Agriculture, forestry and fisheries in Japan, commented agricultural development potential of Vietnam is very large, as does 70% of Vietnam's population work in agriculture but contribute to GDP remains low. Representatives of Japanese companies also expressed desire to invest in the agricultural sector in Vietnam.
