Expectation of the economic growth target of 6.5%-7% is feasibly achievable

Continuing the regular meeting at the end of 2021, in the working session on December 7, after the Provincial People's Council listened to the verification reports on a number of proposals and draft Resolutions submitted at the meeting, the delegates conducted discussion in the hall. Representatives of relevant departments and sectors explained a number of issues that the delegates have concerned.

In response to the opinion of delegates wondering about the possibility to achieve the economic growth target of Dong Nai Province in 2022 from 6.5% - 7%, while in 2021, it only scored 2.15%, Mr. Ho Van Ha, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment clearly analyzed the reasons and the specific conditions. 

The meeting of Provincial People's Council

According to Director of the Department of Planning and Investment Ho Van Ha, entering the year 2022, in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic, there are still complicated developments causing many difficulties and challenges, but the economy of Dong Nai province still has many opportunities to promote the growth. The province has developed a plan for COVID-19 prevention and control and economic recovery. Along with that, the Government's solutions to support businesses to restore production and business will create favorable conditions for businesses to gradually restore production and business stability.

According to the roadmap for disbursement of public investment capital invested by the Government for Long Thanh International Airport from now to 2025, about US$7 billion (if divided by 5 years, each year the Government invests in the Long Thanh International Airport about US$1.4 billion, equivalent to 15% of Dong Nai's GRDP) for the period from now to 2025, the province's growth will be very high. Currently, Dong Nai is also implementing a series of key projects in the province.

Director of the Department of Planning and Investment Ho Van Ha emphasized that, from the favorable and difficult situations that have been analyzed, the levels of epidemic prevention and control in 2022 and in the condition that the epidemic is under control, the whole province has entered a state of new normal, production and business activities of enterprises gradually restored and stabilized by the end of 2021. This will create momentum for production and business growth from the beginning of 2022. Service activities will be stable again from Quarter 4-2021, early 2022 continues to grow, predicting that GRDP in 2022 will grow quite significantly. It is expected that the province's GRDP in 2022 will increase by 6.5%-7%, which is achievable.

Delegates speaking at the meeting

At the meeting, a number of other issues that received many opinions from many delegates at the group discussion session before the meeting were also explained by representatives of departments and sectors. In particular, regarding the overpass project at Dau Giay intersection, Director of the Department of Transport Le Quang Binh gave a detailed explanation on the progress of the project implementation, and at the same time clarified the reasons for the delay, he also suggested the solutions for speeding up the project implementation and ensuring the safety of vehicles traveling through this area. Deputy Director of Provincial Social Insurance Nguyen Thi Quy gave a report explaining the people's health insurance participation quota, solutions in the coming time to achieve the target of 91% assigned by the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, and the People's Committee. Director of the Department of Education and Training Truong Thi Kim Hue further clarified the content and level of support in the Resolution on promulgating policies to develop non-public preschool education in Dong Nai Province that the delegates have been interested in.
