According to businesses in Dong Nai province, companies are trying to maintain a "double goal" to overcome this fourth epidemic. Because if the epidemic prevention is not good, a few F0 cases in the factory will have to temporarily stop working. Thus, the supply chain is "disrupted", causing heavy losses to revenue, directly affecting jobs and incomes of workers.

* Try to maintain the key factories

Recently, on July 20, 2021, the Provincial People's Committee issued Document No. 8423/UBND-KGVX on continuing to implement measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic in the province, which required businesses to base on the actual situation, apply one of the three options as "3 things on the spot ", "1 route - 2 stops" or flexibly apply the two above-mentioned options from July 22, 2021. However, there are businesses that have implemented the above plans nearly a month ago to ensure disease prevention and maintain production.

According to Mr. Khuat Quang Hung, Head of External Communication Department of Nestlé Vietnam Co., Ltd., Nestlé Vietnam has 3 factories in Dong Nai Province, each factory has 200-250 employees. Factories have requested workers for eating and resting on site for nearly a month to prevent epidemics and maintain production. Despite strictly implementing "3 things on the spot" and applying 5K, Nestlé Vietnam is still worried, especially the Nestlé Tri An Factory. Because this is the most important factory of Nestlé Vietnam, specializing in supplying a large number of products to the domestic and regional markets. Therefore, in case this factory stops production for a short time only, this will greatly affect the group's supply chain in many countries around the world.

Currently, in Dong Nai, there are many multinational corporations that have factories in Dong Nai and factories play a very important role in the supply chain of products for other manufacturing corporations in Vietnam and in the world. For example, Hyosung, Fujitsu, Schaeffler, Meggitt, Formosa, Kenda, Bosch, Texhong, Vision Group, etc. All of the above corporations are very worried about the production plants, so we hope the Provincial People's Committee will propose with the Government to soon prioritize the source of Covid-19 vaccine to vaccinate workers. Only in this way could keep the production and maintenance of supply chains for many countries not to be "disrupted".

* Find a way to stay strong

Some enterprises said that if the epidemic situation continues to spread as quickly as present, they are worried that it will be difficult to maintain stable production in the long term. Many foreign partners, when they see the Covid-19 epidemic going in a bad way, will move the orders to other countries which have better control of the disease. Lack of orders, businesses will reduce revenue, difficult to restore production and business.

Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Truc, Deputy General Director of Nhat Nam Wood Joint Stock Company in Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Zone (Bien Hoa City) said: “Many Nhat Nam employees fell into the blockade area and could not go to work. The company was forced to reduce capacity quite large. During this time, our company tries to maintain production in the hope that the province will soon control the epidemic so that workers can return to work. If the epidemic lasts, many orders will not be delivered to customers in time and they will find other partners, later the company will have a hard time finding new orders."

Dong Nai enterprises as well as many other provinces in the southern region have to face a series of difficult problems such as orders that may be cut, delivery delays, and high operating costs. In addition to the price of raw materials and high transportation costs, businesses also spend a lot of money on disease prevention, increase wages to encourage workers to accept "3 things on the spot", offer the better meals, provide with the resting place for workers. At the same time, testing workers every 3 days also costs a significant expense of small companies.

Ms. Ha Minh Khuyen, Director of Trieu Le Electromechanical Co., Ltd in Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Zones said: "Trieu Le Company has employees working in some places outside the company, so these workers must have negative test certificates before going to the works. Because the projects contracts were signed before, the company now has to fully pay for any further expenses. One of the burdens for businesses is having to test every 3 days and the cost is quite high, about VND500,000 per person per day, and it takes a long time for waiting before being tested.
