Technology investment is a condition for sustainable development
For manufacturing industries, the quality of products made is a decisive factor for the success of enterprises. In the context of increasingly commodity competition, enterprises that have unique products, autonomy in core technology and high added value will take advantage.
Green Energy Company Limited (Bien Hoa City) specializes in manufacturing and installing solar water heaters. Mr. Nguyen Van Quy, Director of the company, said that the company's goal is to produce water heaters under the Donasun brand. The market of solar water heaters currently has many places both imported and domestic. In order to be able to compete well with other brands, the company has constantly made efforts to build brands and master production technology. Currently, after many efforts, the Donasun branded water heater has gradually become more familiar in Dong Nai market and neighboring localities.
In this regard, Mr. Le Nhat Quang, Deputy Director of the Software Technology Park, Director of the Innovation Startup Center of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, said that creativity is one of the decisive factors of the success of enterprises in the current period. Vietnam has initially formed a generation of entrepreneurs who can create new values based on science - technology, knowledge and new creative models. Not only new enterprises, science and technology enterprises but also large and successful units also regularly spend on investment, research and development. The combination of market demand as well as enterprise's creativity, mastering technology will be a catalyst for the production of products to be more competitive, thereby increasing the competitiveness of the economy.
The proactivity in designing the product is also the issue that Dong Nai wood industry is aiming for. In fact, although it is the 2nd locality in exporting wood, most of it is still exported in the form of processing. Therefore, investing in training and recruiting employees capable of designing independent products with their own brands will maximize the added value in each new product.
Supporting businesses to master technology
To promote enterprises to invest in technology, the Provincial People's Committee has just approved the Dong Nai Technology Innovation Program to 2030. The overall goal of the program is to facilitate and support enterprises to transfer, innovate, complete improve technology, create products of high quality and added value.
From now to 2025, Dong Nai strives that the number of enterprises implementing technological innovation will increase by an average of 5% annually, and by 2030, increase by 10% per year. In 2025, 10% of enterprises producing key products will participate in building research and development organizations, and there will be 1 to 2 manufacturing industries capable of mastering or creating advanced technologies in the value chain to produce highly competitive, value-added products. By 2030, this number will be 30% of enterprises and 3 key manufacturing industries. The province will also train and advise 1,000 engineers and managers in enterprises on innovation and technology enhancement.
According to enterprises located in the province, it is very difficult to master new production technologies and invest in advanced machinery systems because the size of enterprises is mostly small and medium. To support enterprises, it is imperative that localities perfect mechanisms and policies to promote enterprises to innovate technology; at the same time, improve the program implementation capacity of officials and state management agencies. In addition, it is diversifying resources for investment in technological innovation, encouraging enterprises to establish science and technology funds, linking enterprises with organizations in research, transfer and application of technology into production.
