Dong Nai products are supported to be sold in supermarkets

In Dong Nai, over the past time, departments, branches and localities have organized programs to support and connect businesses with supermarkets and retail channels, but the results are only at the beginning.

Dong Nai Cow Breeding and Dairy Processing Joint Stock Company (Long Thanh district) specializes in producing dairy-based confectionery. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thanh, director of the company, said that the company's products are mainly supplied to souvenir shops for tourists. As a local specialty product, the company also want to expand distribution and bring goods to supermarkets. When bringing goods to the supermarket for sale, company will have conditions to build the brand and develop long-term plans, but it's still not working as expected.

Similarly, Hoa Sen Sauce Brand Manager (Long Khanh City) Tran Tri Dung said that the unit currently has production facilities in Dong Nai, Binh Thuan and Gia Lai. Every day, Hoa Sen sauce facilities bring to the market tons of dipping sauce products of all kinds, the unit has applied science to standardize the quality but still retain the full traditional flavor.

According to Mr. Dung, the company is distributing very well in traditional channels in the province, the Southwest region, the Central region... The problem is to bring enterprise to new heights, brand positioning needs to be able to bring goods into the modern distribution chain. But the distribution of goods in the supermarket channel is still not as expected.

On this matter, Deputy Director of Coopmart Bien Hoa Supermarket Hoang Thi To Uyen said that in order to bring goods to the supermarket, the key issue is that businesses must be patient. The supermarket has worked with many businesses on this issue, but very few businesses "go to the end".

“A lot of businesses when making documents and procedures until 2/3 of the way, then they stop and don't do it anymore. The principle to enter the supermarket is that the products must be tested and each cycle must be checked. We are committed to providing our best support in the appraisal, the problem is that businesses must patiently pursue to the end. Entering the supermarket, enterprises' products will be regulated by the system, creating conditions for sustainable development, not as uncertain as outside," said Ms. Uyen.

Support connectiong to bring startup products to supermarkets

To support and bring startup products and OCOP products (one commune one product program) to the supermarket channel, Dong Nai has implemented connection programs.

On July 27, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinated with MM Mega Market Co., Ltd. to organize a program to introduce and sell OCOP products in Dong Nai province at a supermarket in Bien Hoa city. This is the first time the unit has implemented a program to connect, introduce and sell products at Mega Market Bien Hoa. The purpose is to support farmers, cooperatives, businesses to promote, introduce and sell products of the province.

Then, on September 22, the Department of Industry and Trade held a workshop on solutions to connect startup products and OCOP products to the supermarket system and distribution channels in the area. At this conference, problems related to bringing goods into supermarkets were discussed and resolved by the parties.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Thai Thanh Phong, Dong Nai is a locality with many businesses operating, with many OCOP certified products. Obtaining provincial certification is an initial favorable condition to cooperate with a modern distribution system. The Department of Industry and Trade will continue to coordinate with relevant units to support startups and OCOP products in trade promotion and communication. From there, creating favorable conditions for local products to put into distribution and retail channels inside and outside the province, to meet the needs of consumers and link chain and product supply.
