Receiving ships up to 60,000DWT downstream of Phuoc An Bridge and up to 30,000DWT upstream of Phuoc An Bridge to Go Dau, Phuoc Thai, suitable for the conditions of exploitation of navigational routes and the clearance under the works crossing the rivers.

Nhon Trach wharf area also serves the socio-economic development of the Southeast provinces, has a general wharf, bulk cargo, liquid/gas cargo. The consulting unit has also proposed to the Provincial People's Committee to review the projects of seaports and inland ports behind schedule; Planning of general and container wharves concentrated in Nhon Trach District, Dong Nai River, Phuoc An in association with logistics centers behind the port and a synchronously connected transport system. Implement investment in Nhon Trach and Phuoc An inter-port roads in sync with the progress of port construction. Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Linh shared that with the existing system of seaports and inland ports, Dong Nai possesses very important resources to promote the regional economy in general and of the region. However, the seaports of the province are subject to great competition from the seaports of Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong. That's why it takes a lot of effort. In order for seaports to function well and prosper, leaders of the Provincial Party Committee believe that there must be a well-connected transport system, thereby reducing costs and reducing transportation time.

Talking at the meeting, Vice Chairperson Nguyen Thi Hoang of the Provincial People’s Committee said that, in the three planned port areas, the development of the wharf area in Nhon Trach currently depends on the direction of the construction of Cat Lai Bridge. The bridge has not yet determined the official construction location. Therefore, the consulting unit should pay attention when planning. At the same time, the consultant also needs to update the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Railway line in the planning.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Xuan Sang said that currently, the Ministry of Transport has assigned the Vietnam Maritime Administration to develop detailed plans for seaport groups, including detailed planning for seaport group No. 4 including Dong Nai Seaport; detailed planning of land areas and seaport waters of Dong Nai Province and planning of national inland ports, including the system of inland ports in the province. As planned, these plans will be completed and submitted to the Government for approval by the end of this year. Orientation to develop the province’s seaport system will focus on welcoming small tonnage ships for intra-Asia and domestic transportation.
