Facing the complicated, unpredictable, and unprecedented outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic, the leaders of Dong Nai Province wisely gave the guidelines, even going ahead, and anticipating the epidemic situation. The guidelines have been responded and actively participated by the provincial people. Thanks to the guidance of the leadership, the situation of Covid-19 epidemic in Dong Nai Province has been basically controlled, and the socio-economic activities have returned to almost normal.

To prevent the disease from spreading when the rate of vaccination against Covid-19 is still very low, from July 9, 2021 to October 22, 2021, Dong Nai Province implements social distancing according to Directive No. 16 of the Government across the province with the spirit of "Whoever stays where he is", people only go out when it is absolutely necessary, minimizing the number of people going out from 6pm to 6am the next morning. Making the strict penalties for violations of regulations on epidemic prevention and control.
At this stage, the disease has spread widely into the community, creating many large outbreaks, making it difficult to control the source of infection. With the characteristics of being an industrial province with a large number of workers, Dong Nai Province faces many difficulties in handling the outbreaks in the cramped worker dormitories. At the peak of the epidemic, there were days when the province recorded more than 1,300 new cases.
“The quarantine areas, the field hospital opened the day before, the next day was full of patients and quarantined people. Myself and many colleagues have spent many nights to find an effective solution. In my mind, I always feel clearly two words "anti-epidemic" - Dr. Phan Huy Anh Vu, Director of Dong Nai Department of Health said.
In mid-August 2021, Dong Nai Province's Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control was consolidated, led by Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Linh. The Command Center for Covid-19 Prevention and Control in Dong Nai Province was also established, led by Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Cao Tien Dung. During the complicated spread of the epidemic, the Steering Committee conducted daily online meetings with the Steering Committees of districts and cities.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Linh said that before each meeting of the Steering Committee, he listened to and accessed information from many experts, consultants, and people with expertise in the field of health to direct the implementation of solutions to control the epidemic most effectively, in the shortest time.
“The leaders of Dong Nai Province consider the protection of health and lives of the people as the ultimate goal. Accepting the economic sacrifices (businesses that do not guarantee a 3-on-site production plan or a 2-destination route must stop working for epidemic prevention) for a certain period of time to perform well the epidemic prevention and control" - Comrade Nguyen Hong Linh emphasized.
The largest ever Covid-19 vaccination campaign has been deployed rapidly across the province. Vaccines were used wherever they are allocated, excluding weekends and holidays. Thanks to the efforts, up to now, the rate of vaccination against Covid-19 has been ranked first in the country with 100% of people aged 12 and over having received the first injection, nearly 97% have received the second dose, and more than 6% have vaccinated with the third dose.
In addition, the nationwide population-wide sampling campaign is highly effective when detecting and isolating thousands of F0, limiting the spread of disease in the community.
With the basic control of the epidemic, from October 23, Dong Nai Province implemented Resolution No. 128 of the Government and Directive No. 20 of the Provincial People's Committee, gradually lifted the lockdown and social distance, shifting to the adaptation with the safe, flexible, effective control of the Covid-19 epidemic. So far, more than 90% of production and business activities have returned to normal.
