Dong Nai province signs friendship cooperation with Kampong Thom province, Kingdom of Cambodia

​From 11 to 13 December, the delegation of leaders of Kampong Thom province, the Kingdom of Cambodia led by Mr. Nguon Rattanak — Head of Kampong Thom Province, Kingdom of Cambodia visited and signed a Memorandum of Understanding establishing friendship and cooperation between Dong Nai province and Kampong Thom province.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguon Rattanak - Kampong Thom Province, expressed his thanks to Dong Nai province and Vietnam Rubber Group for welcoming the delegation warmly, at the same time, to the Vietnamese people in general and the government, the people of Dong Nai province for helping and supporting the Cambodian people in the fight for independence, freedom and the construction and development of the country... Mr. Nguyen Rattanak said that Dong Nai province has strengths in both industrial and agricultural sectors, so he can support and help Kampong Thom province. He also looks forward to welcoming Vietnamese enterprises in general and Dong Nai enterprises in particular to invest in Kampong Thom province.

Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Cao Tien Dung said that the friendly cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia in general and between Dong Nai province and Kampong Thom province in particular has developed continuously over the past time. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding establishing friendship between the two localities this time will serve as a basis for strengthening cooperation activities between the two sides in many areas in the near future.

It is reported that 2022 is the Year of Friendship Vietnam - Cambodia, Dong Nai province has organized many activities to commemorate important events in diplomatic relations between the two countries. In particular, on June 23, 2022, Dong Nai province solemnly celebrated the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cambodia (June 24, 1967 — 24 June 2022) with the participation of Mr. Sok Dareth - Consul General of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Ho Chi Minh City; in November 2022, the Provincial Military Command also coordinated with the Ministry of Defence to hand over 49 remains of armed forces soldiers solidarity page to save Cambodia.
Vietnam - Cambodia is two neighboring countries, the Vietnamese people and the Cambodian people have good traditional friendship relations for a long time. Together, they have united and adhered to paint in the struggle for independence and freedom of each country. Following that tradition, the Party, Government and People of Dong Nai province have built good relations with Kampong Thom province - Cambodia. The two localities have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in cashew cultivation and processing since 2009 and a Memorandum of Understanding between Provincial Military Command and Kampong Thom/Military Sub-district 4 since 2015.

From 2011 to now, Dong Nai province has successfully organized 15 provincial delegations, including 4 provincial leaders, visiting and working with local Cambodia. At the same time, Dong Nai province organized a thoughtful reception and solemnly welcomed 14 Delegates of Your side, including 6 senior leaders, visited and worked in Dong Nai province. From 8 to 10 of April 2022, Dong Nai province organized a delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Son Hung — Vice Chairman of Dong Nai People's Committee visited and presented gifts to the Government of Kampong Thom, Cambodia. In terms of training and scholarship, Dong Nai province has supported 36 scholarships for full university and college training for the Cambodian General Association of Vietnamese descent in Cambodia. Every year, Dong Nai province holds student exchange camps from 3 countries of Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and organizes a gathering for traditional Tet festival Chol Ch'Nam Th'May for Cambodian students studying in the province.

Regarding the foreign affairs of the people, the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association of Dong Nai province was established in March 2015 and has grown with 6,200 members. The Association has contributed to strengthening, strengthening and developing the relationship of friendship and solidarity between the two ethnic groups of Vietnam — Cambodia; to strengthen the understanding between the people of Vietnam and Cambodia, between the people and the government of Dong Nai province and Cambodia localities.​
