"Stable workforce for production" is one of the comment made by leader of Department of Employment (Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs) in a recent working visit to Dong Nai Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs) on labor supply and demand for production.
Employment generation reached more than 51% of the yearly plan
In the report to Department of Employment, Deputy Director of Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (DOLISA), Mr. Lam Duy Tin said that: since the beginning of this year, nearly 46 thousand jobs have been created, reaching about 51% of the yearly plan. According to the DOLISA, there is still considerable demand for human resources of enterprises in the province. Approximately 28,000 people will be arranged to work for enterprises, and the rest of workforce will be included in other socio-economic plan. Mr. Tin considered that in this favorable situation, the target of generating 90,000 jobs in 2014 can be met.
The survey on labor market demand points out that companies in the province need to recruit about 62,000 people in 2014 and nearly two thirds of companies’ demand have been satisfied now. Mr. Tin added that many businesses now would like to raise capital, expand production so there is still high demand for labor. Especially businesses operate in leather and footwear industry, fashion garments, and machinery parts, etc to serve the export demand at the end of the year.
Relevant departments and agencies have intervened timely and supported positively for 600 unemployed people since the beginning of this year and about 200,000 workers affected by recent social disturbances of extremists to stabilize their jobs. Fortunately, in the last two months, businesses have increasing demand for human resources recruitment, which is clearly shown in recent job trading floor in June. Mr. Huynh Ngoc Long, Director of the Job Introduction Center of South-eastern region said: "At the job trading floor in May, enterprises need to recruit 1,200 employees whereas at the June job trading floor they need to hire 1,500 employees for the main purpose of direct production for export goods at the end of the year.”
Effort to find jobs for 44,000 labors
According to leader of DOLISA, from now to the end of 2014, the provincial authority will attempt to create employment for 44,000 people; of which 20,000 people will work in businesses. The provincial authority will cooperate with related departments to assist enterprises in stabilizing the production, creating a balance between labor supply and demand.
Also in the report of Job Introduction Center of South-eastern region, the firm situation of employment is clearly showed in the fixed number of people registering for unemployment insurance every day (100 people per day in average). This is also good signal for job generation policies to be implemented for the last 6 months of 2014.
Mr. Nguyen Dai Dong, Director General of Department of Employment noted that Dong Nai has attained its target of employment creation in the first six months, contributing to labor supply and demand stability, satisfying production activities of enterprises. Besides, DOLISA also sent delegations to support enterprises in sustaining production after the incident on May 13th and 14th. This has assisted the province’s authorities in solving employment problem and it is also in consistent with the guidelines of Dong Nai government on accompanying with enterprises.
In addition to sending its staff to participate in inter-departments delegation of the province, DOLISA also dispatched its seven delegations to examine, direct and help businesses to overcome obstacles in the execution of Labor Law. Especially 200 riot-struck enterprises have been well-informed of labor. The companies highly evaluate these prompt actions and employees also join hands to help companies to surpass the difficulties.
