Attract businesses to invest in industrial production

Dong Nai has a strong industry development compared to other localities in the country and neighboring areas. Dong Nai is planned 39 Industrial Zones (IZs) with nearly 19 thousand hectares, of which 31 Industrial Zones are in operation. By the end of March 2022, Dong Nai had more than 40 countries and territories to invest and ranked 4th in the country in terms of attracting foreign investment capital with 1.8 thousand projects, including many commercial major brands in the world. According to the Provincial People's Committee, the industrial production value in 2021 of the province is estimated at nearly VND708 trillion, increasing more than 4.4% compared to 2020. In the economic structure, industry - construction accounts for more than 60%.

According to the Department of Planning and Investment, Dong Nai implements the policy of selectively attracting foreign investment, resolutely rejecting projects that cause environmental pollution, labor intensive, and use outdated technology. The province prioritizes attracting high-tech, environmentally friendly projects, supporting industries, having spillover effects, connecting global production and supply chains; at the same time, require enterprises to come up with a roadmap for science and technology transfer. In addition, focusing on attracting large projects, projects of strategic investors, multinational corporations headquartered and establishing research - development (R&D) agencies and innovation center in Dong Nai Province associated with the investment in construction and operation of Long Thanh International Airport.

Along with attracting large foreign enterprises and investors to the locality to cooperate and do business with large industrial projects and modern technology, Dong Nai has also developed a large number of private enterprises. The province has also issued a project to support small and medium enterprises in the period of 2021-2025.

The province has focused on supporting businesses in such areas as: credit guarantee for small and medium enterprises; support in terms of production and business premises for enterprises in supporting industries; supporting human resource development, corporate governance, improving labor quality; legal support, etc. The main support task is to transform from individual business households to small and medium-sized enterprises, support enterprises to join industry clusters, value chains, etc. With solutions to support and remove difficulties, Dong Nai Province strives to build 65.5 thousand small and medium-sized enterprises by 2025, creating jobs for over 265,000 workers.

Industrial restructuring by region

In parallel with attracting investment in existing Industrial Zones and advantageous regions, Dong Nai is also in the process of accelerating industrial restructuring, in which the direction of industrial development expands to rural areas. The province also plans to add more Industrial Zones in rural areas with lots of land, associated with the development of transport infrastructure. Forming Industrial Clusters specialized in the production and processing of agricultural products and food. Rural areas will give priority to attracting projects for fields related to production, processing of agricultural products, high-tech value industries and contributing to job creation and economic restructuring.

According to Chairman Cao Tien Dung of the Provincial People's Committee, in the short and long term, Dong Nai has a lot of potential when it has great advantages in infrastructure, becoming an international gateway, creating new opportunities for sustainable development. The province encourages businesses to explore investment, business, and creative opportunities to produce products, and considers the success of enterprises as the success of the province. In that process, Dong Nai will also always make efforts to understand the needs and aspirations of enterprises to have appropriate companion and support policies.
