In the field of industry, Dong Nai’s strengths are farm-product processing, food, electricity, electronics, mechanics, textile and garment, footwear, construction material, woodwork and handicraft which have crucially contributed to the State budget over the past years. The measure it works out to develop key industries toward 2010 is “to speed up the technological innovation in these industries. To focus on attracting investment from big multinational groups and partners which have great potential on technology, capital and market.”
Dong Nai is underestimated in term of service industry, trade and tourism. It’s all because the province has not yet appropriately exploited its potential on these fields. Therefore, it targets to increase the portion of these fields by 34% in 2010 by enhancing the quality of such fields as trade, hotel, restaurant, transportation, communications, credit, finance, education and training, medical service and ecological tourism in coming years.
In the field of agriculture, due to the limitation of farming land, the province encourages the specialization and expansion of intensive farming, especially the application of biological technology advances to diversify farm products and improve the quality of key products.
