Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Vo Tan Duc highly appreciated the Dong Nai Customs Department's efforts to implement practical solutions to solve import and export procedures for businesses smoothly and efficiently regardless the hardships during the peak of the Covid-19 epidemic.

The provincial leader also highly appreciated the spirit of business associations as connection people. “At the conference, I was very excited to see that the leaders of Taiwan, Korea and Japan business associations in Dong Nai also attended this conference, it indicates that the associations have promoted their roles as bridges connecting between enterprises and state management agencies," said Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Leader of the Provincial People's Committee also expects these associations to continue working closely with local authorities in general, and with Customs in particular to create better conditions for businesses to make investment and do business in the local area. With the motto "Government accompanies businesses", leaders of Dong Nai Province always look forward to meeting business leaders to help remove their difficulties and listen to the suggestions and recommendations raised by the enterprises.

Also at the conference, leaders of business associations expressed their joy when the Provincial People's Committee as well as the Customs agency always stand by and promptly removed difficulties for businesses.

Mr. Mizushima - Chairman of the Japanese Business Association in Ho Chi Minh City shared: “Last year, due to the epidemic situation, the meeting with businesses could not be held, but Customs officers were still concerned, paid attention, listened to the difficulties and problems of the business and provide timely support to help the business overcome the difficult period. I hope the provincial government and the Customs Department will continue to support and create more favorable conditions for the businesses.”

In the confusion with many difficulties, Mr. Wu Ming Ying - President of The Council of Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Dong Nai said: In October 2021, activities reopened, but businesses still operate moderately due to the shortage of workers, raw materials and disrupted supply chains, etc. At the beginning of this year, businesses were like "sitting on fire" because sea freight cost continued to rise, gasoline costs, and raw material prices have increased. He wishes that the Government and Dong Nai Customs Department will continue to provide effective, direct, and quick policies to solve the immediate difficulties of businesses, especially export enterprises in order to improve the competitiveness of Vietnam's exports.

Mr. Wu Ming Ying also suggested that the Council of Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Dong Nai could combine trade agencies to jointly organize trade connection programs with associations of countries in Vietnam, creating opportunities to promote trade, develop and bring the available items of Dong Nai Enterprise to other enterprises, including exchange of human resources, techniques, production products, etc.

At the conference, Mr. Kim Young Whan - President of the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KOCHAM) in Dong Nai raised three rising issues in the world today: high interest rates, high inflation, and high exchange rates affect the world economy, creating more difficulties for enterprises accordingly.

“Facing such challenges, I think close coordination between businesses and the Government of Vietnam is needed more than ever. In order to promote sustainable economic growth, I think it is necessary to innovate in the regulation to be in line with the standards of technical progress and international integration standards"- Mr. Kim Young Whan added.

At the conference, many businesses were very interested in the digital customs program in the near future, because digital customs will help businesses reduce a lot of costs and time, which is very evident in the anti-corruption in the recent fighting with Covid-19 pandemic. The representative of Harada Industries Vietnam Co., Ltd. also asked the Customs to continue to support information and guide businesses on the content to prepare to implement digital customs in the coming time.

According to Ms. Huong, currently, the Customs sector is implementing the stages of the important project of building digital customs, smart customs - a model with a high degree of automation, applying scientific and technological achievements on a digital, paperless platform, aiming to develop Vietnam Customs to be a modern customs organization, among the countries with highly developed customs organizations in the world.
