Big investment in the modern technology

For nearly recent 2 years, although the Covid-19 epidemic has had a heavy impact, many enterprises in Dong Nai Province have spent billions of USD in order to import the modern machinery serving for the industrial production. The goal is to increase productivity and quality meeting the large orders of domestic and foreign partners.

An enterprise in the Nhon Trach III Industrial Zone (Nhon Trach District) still maintains their production and business thanks to the modern machinery

In the first 8 months of 2021, the enterprises in the province imported the machinery and equipment of nearly US$1.14 billion, an increase of more than 13% compared to the same period last year. Thus, on average, the enterprises spend more than US$142 million per each month in order to buy the machinery to serve the industrial production.

Big spending to buy the machinery

The machinery and equipment have always been one of the three items with the largest import turnover of Dong Nai Province in recent years. Specifically, in 2019, the enterprises spent about US$1.95 billion to import the machinery and equipment. In 2020, in spite of being severely affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, the enterprises in the province still imported the machinery for US$1.56 billion. Particularly, in July and August 2021, when the epidemic spread on a large scale, many factories had to suspend the production or reduce the capacity, but the companies still did not stop buying the ready-made machinery in order to install and put into the production immediately as soon as the social distance ends.

Mr. Kim Byunggi, General Director of the Hansol Electronics Vietnam Hochiminhcity Company Limited in the Amata Industrial Zone (Bien Hoa City) said: “After several years of successful investment in the Amata Industrial Zone, in early 2021, the company invests 01 more project in the Ho Nai Industrial Zone (Trang Bom District - Bien Hoa City). The company expects that in early 2022, it will complete the construction of factories and assemble the machinery lines to put into production. Mr. Kim Byunggi also shared, the new project of the Hansol Electronics Vietnam Hochiminhcity Company Limited will be invested in the modern machinery and applied the technology 4.0 in the production of electronic components. Products made will be supplied to the Samsung Group and exported.

The modern machinery helps maintain the production

From the end of June 2021 up to now, the industry of the three provinces and cities that have been most affected are Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong Province and Dong Nai Province. Many factories had to close because they could not guarantee the "3 things on the spot" option. Particularly, Dong Nai Province still has more than 1.2 thousand companies registered to implement "3 things on the spot" in order to maintain their production and business. Dong Nai Province keeps much industrial production because the factories apply the modern technology and many lines specialized by the automatic machines. Therefore, the employees continue to produce, still ensure the 5K principles and limit the spread of epidemic into the factories.

Recently, on the occasion of visiting and working with Dong Nai Province, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh assessed: "Beside that, the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic, the province needs to have the flexible options in order to help the enterprises maintain their industrial production. Applying the advanced technology in the industrial production is one of the solutions to help the enterprises effectively prevent and control the epidemics, and keep their production without disrupting the chain of product supply. However, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, the epidemic prevention and control must always be a top priority, if ensuring, the production is continue.

According to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Cao Tien Dung, before allowing the enterprises to implement the plan of employees staying at the company to work, the province carefully checks and reviews if ensuring, it can be operated. Many enterprises only maintain 20 - 40% of employees compared to the beginning of the year in order to ensure the epidemic prevention and control, and continue their production. The province also set up 121 inspection teams to promptly find out and support the enterprises to remove their difficulties and obstacles so that they can realize the “dual goals”.

Because many enterprises in the province have changed to the modern production lines, they can still produce in spite of reducing many employees compared to the normal. In the long term, for the sustainable industrial production, towards a green economy, the application of modern machinery and technology in order to participate in the digital transformation will help the enterprises reduce the risks and losses in the event of the epidemic.
