Benefits from the "Electronic Health Book" application

​Discussing with the Provincial Portal about the implementation and benefits of the "Electronic Health Book" application, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications Vo Hoang Khai said: this application greatly supports the care of people's health. In the immediate future, the "Electronic Health Book" application will help medical staffs collect information, reduce congestion at vaccination places and limit the possibility of infection for people when going to inject the Covid-19 vaccines. With the "Electronic Health Book" application, after vaccinating, people will have an electronic "Certificate of Immunization" with a QR code, along with a certificate of Covid-19 vaccination according to regulations of the Ministry of Health.

* Mr. Deputy Director, how is the applied information technology in general and the "Electronic Health Book" application in particular implemented in the plan of large-scale vaccination for people in the province?

- Implementing the Prime Minister's direction on applying the information technology to vaccination activities, The Ministry of Information and Communications and the Ministry of Health have cooperated with  Viettel Group (Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group) to build a platform consisting of 4 systems including: "Electronic Health Book" Application, Covid-19 Vaccination Information Portal, National Immunization Support System, and Response Center (MCC). In the past time, the Department of Information and Communications has cooperated with authorized units in the implementation of applying information technology in medical declaration, tracing, test sampling, etc. Most recently, the "Electronic Health Book" application is deployed and used on 2 Android and iOS platforms. The application has been deployed to hospitals, district health centers, commune health stations, private polyclinics in the province.

On August 14, the Provincial People's Committee also simultaneously sent messages to people with mobile subscribers in the province in order to popularize this application. Through applications, in Dong Nai Province, more than 100,000 registrations for Covid-19 vaccination have been recorded.

* What benefits will the "Electronic Health Book" application bring to users, sir?

- In addition to the benefits of the "Electronic Health Book" application as mentioned above, after installing the "Electronic Health Book" application, when going to the vaccination places, people just need to scan their personal QR code at the vaccination facilities without  filling in the registration forms. Through the application, medical staffs collect information, reduce congestion at vaccination places, promptly support people about post-injection health problems. The "Electronic Health Book" application has the main benefits such as: helping to register for vaccinations, confirming vaccinations (provide information about whether or not to agree to be vaccinated against Covid-19), providing the medical information about health status, symptoms occurring if any after being vaccinated, issuing a certificate of vaccination, etc.

In addition, the "Electronic Health Book" application also plays an important role in the overall, synchronous and nationwide management of injected subjects data, injection history, interoperable data at all levels from local to central. This is also a solution to help improve the efficiency of statistics, analysis, warning, planning and implementation monitoring at all levels on vaccination against Covid-19, helping reduce the workload of record keeping and reporting, supporting data entry and report extraction.

* How to install the application "Electronic health book", in case people do not have a smartphone, how to register?

- To install the application, people just need to access the CH Play on Android phones or the App Store on iPhones. To search for keywords: “Electronic Health Book”, download and install the application then follow the instructions.

For people who do not have a smartphone, they can ask their relatives to register for them on the smartphone owners. An “Electronic Health Book” application can be shared by many people. Upon successful registration, people are issued a customer code (QR code) from which when they go to the vaccination places, they only need to provide their ID (Identification Card) or Citizen Identification Card number and the necessary information is available (no need to declare it from the beginning).
