Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Que- chairman of project said, in fact, price of beef and milk has increased quite high on market in the recent years, so it is very necessary to implement this project. After successfully artificial multiplication of 14 F1 calves, mother-cows have been transferred to people exactly according to contract, 14 F1 calves including 7 bulls which have been sold with price of commercial beef after maturing, and 7 cows which have been transferred to Phu Vinh Agricultural Cooperative after maturing to keep implementing the second period of project that continues to multiply local cow-herds by method of artificial fertilization to get milk and F2 calves.

Therefore, after the first period, it results more development of 14 cows and 7 cows in the period of reproduction at the present. Thus, in the second period, Dinh Quan District still keep developing local herds, specifically transferring to breeding households that are members of Phu Vinh Agricultural Cooperative and supporting technological methods such as sperm sowing, training for the locals. Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, 2 Xuan Spring Village, Dinh Quan District said his family received to raise 2 F1 cows which grow well, eat much and have just been fertilized at the present. With scientific methods of caring and methodological applying of procedures in artificial multiplication, he thinks that he would have 4 more cows from 2 in very near future.

The first step of applying scientific technology to enhancing cow-herds succeeds basically in the area because in addition to projects’ cows artificially fertilized, there still have many cows raised by people that also ask for artificial multiplication. From then, it increases significantly total herds of cows in the area. Specifically, total herds in 2001 were 2.355 cows, but total herds in 2006 were 9.645 cows in the whole district. Source of foodstuff is very abundant due to a large area of rice and corn cultivation in district. However, to be active in sources of foodstuff, the project also facilitates many households to grow grass inserted and intensively. As a result, foodstuff for cattle in the area is never deficient.

From the fact of project in scientific and methodological multiplication of cow-herds, it opens training class of caring technology of sind cross-bred mother-cows, breeding ways of dairy for 200 households in Gia Canh Commune, Phu Vinh, Dinh Quan Town and members of Farmer District Society. Through that, it builds a team of 4 professional instructors of sperm sowing. Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Que said the final aim of developing cowherds and getting milk has not been got, but if the result can be gained expectedly, models of dairy farming will get a higher result than cows for meat 1.500.000 VND and provide 1 well cross-bred cow.
