Voters Raise Many A Hot Issue

At the meeting, voters heard Dong Nai Provincial and Bien Hoa Municipal People's Council deputies report on the implementation of operations in 2011 and orientations and tasks in 2012.

Most proposals of voters mainly revolved around a number of current pressing issues such as security and order loss, increased crimes and traffic accidents, how to deal with Sonadezi Long Thanh’s waste disposal violations that was detected not long ago, the slow implementation progress of the province’s major projects that cause losses and waste and affect people's lives and problem-solving measures; policies to give assistance to the staff of quarters and hamlets and the families making contributions to the national revolution.

Quang Vinh ward voters also made complaints about the slow implementation progress of local projects such as Le Van Tam Primary School, Phan Dinh Phung-Cay Tram Street, Residential Resettlement for the residents in Quarter 4.

Chairperson of Dong Nai People’s Committee Dinh Quoc Thai on behalf of Dong Nai People’s Council deputies said that the slow implementation progress of local major projects was due to compensation and site clearance issues.

Sonadezi Long Thanh was fined for its sub-standard waste disposal. The company has finished dealing with the consequences as levels of authorities’ requirements.

Serious traffic accidents and crimes are growing.

Due to the fact that Dong Nai is a developed economy, a gateway of the south eastern region, and a densely-populated place where residents from other provinces live to work and earn their living, this results in a complex security and order situation.

To tackle these problems, Dong Nai People’s Committee will hold a working session with the province's security forces, closely cooperate with each authority in the province in preserving security, and social order and safety, promote the “People protect national security”, “Each local resident help security forces fulfill their tasks successfully, “Set a high alert on special crimes, especially those occurring in densely-populated areas” campaigns.

A big increase in serious traffic accidents in recent times has been due to a slower growth of local transport infrastructure than the socio-economic development pace.

Thus, in addition to strengthening the dissemination of road laws and administrative sanctions for violations of traffic safety, Dong Nai is also trying to collaborate with other neighboring regions in pouring more investment in traffic infrastructure, in dealing with black points of traffic accidents, and in building ring roads 3 and 4, highways, and overpasses.
