The Farmers Association Ceaselessly Supports its Members for Production Development

     Separately in the first 9 months 8,358 new members were admitted, up the total to 203,415 members, making up 62% of farmers households. In line with member development, the association of all levels and relevant bodies jointly held number of training courses, cultivation workshops, technical supports, etc for peasants and focally built strong units. So far 1076 key cadres have been attended training course in 10 out of 11 associations of districts, towns and city; 63,022 turns of carders, farmer members have been trained in technology transfer conference; 28 vocational classes on industrial sewing and household electricity and veterinary have been held to 2,084 farmer members. Besides, the members are often given chance to go sightseeing at highly efficient economic models. thereby, a great deal of farmers could find themselves appropriate ways of economic development, such as raising wild anabas, chickens, industrial frogs, rabbits and growing orchids, and so on.

    The movement of the best farmers in business and production has attracted 133,242 households’ involvement, making up 102%. By means of this movements. The association of all levels have mobilized VND728 billion (US$45,077) for farmers support fund, occupying 177%; in cooperation with Bank for Agriculture Rural Developments, 16,854 households have been supported to borrow VND600 billion (US$37,152), and other 10,316 households with VND97 billion (US$6,006) via the authorized loan by Bank of Social Policy. Moreover, the farmers have been subsidized to buy 2,327 tons of fertilizers. 2 agricultural machines and insecticides on late payments reaching near VND10 billion (US$619,195). Therefore, 1,716 of the households have overcome poverty to have better living standards.

    In addition, the movements of cultured lifestyle building and national security and defense guaranteeing have raised good news: 180,689 households enroll to try the title of cultured family, making up 93.2%; the 11 districts, town and city associations in cooperation with the provincial Security Police held 11 debates on disseminating Resolution No.  09/1998/NQ-CP on national program of criminal prevention with the participations of 660 cadres and members. In the first 9 year, there were 10,085 propaganda programs for 487,689 cadres and members; the association held law propaganda for 145,964 turns of cadres and members, legally supported 1,165 house holds, contributed to building 249 bookcases.

    Apart from the advantages, certain heated problems that drew farmers’ concerns occurred such as counterfeit manure of all kinds, an increase in production input prices, and inefficient use due to short termed loans from the banks. Moreover, science and technology transfer to farmers is so limited that they could not produce qualified goods to meet market demand in the integration period. One thing that they are so interested in is finding stead market for their products, which cannot be met because of insufficient cooperation among the “four parties”.
