The Central Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Has a Working Session with the Standing Committee at Dong Nai Youth Union

Secretary of Dong Nai Youth Union Bui Xuan Thong said that to implement the Youth Year, levels of Youth Unions have strengthened its propaganda work concerning the Youth Year and implemented the following activities:

- Organizing a great meeting to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of Foundation of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

- Organizing contests for revolutionary song propaganda teams and groups.

- Holding get-togethers for Youth Union leaders over periods, and organizing High School Youth Union Detachment Day.

- Organizing the College and University Healthy Youth Festival.

Two objects in need of a special attention in 2011 are young workers and students.

Thus, calling for the establishment of youth union detachments in businesses is a major task.

Levels of youth unions have organizes many activities to look after the life of workers as follows:

- Giving workers materialistic and spiritual assistance through sales-off campaigns.

- Organizing music shows, sports events, and gift offerings for the children of workers, and providing legal advice for workers in industrial parks.

However, Dong Nai Youth Union has encountered such challenges as slow coordination between agencies, and sub-standard youth union staff.

Thus, Dong Nai Youth Union asked that the Central Youth Union introduce open regulations concerning youth union staff, offering professional skill training courses to youth union staff, and putting investment in and providing support for Dong Nai Youth Union activities.

Mr. Phan Van Mai emphasizes: “Taking care of the youth union activities is a must”

In terms of plans to prepare for the 70th Anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers, Head of Young Pioneers Commission Truong Hai Thi said that Dong Nai Youth Union would cooperate with Department of Education and Training, and Dong Nai Children's House in organizing such activities as the celebration of “The 70th Anniversary – Young Pioneer Detachment Grows up together with the country”, the commendation of “Small plan brave fighter” and of 70 outstanding young pioneers.

Grassroots activities are scheduled to be held from mid-April to early May 2011 and in the middle of May provincial level activities will be organized.

Addressing the meeting, Secretary of the Central Youth Union Phan Van Mai remarked that Dong Nai Youth Union prepared for, and started implementing the Youth Year fairly well.

Also, he asked that the implementation of the Youth Year and the Youth Union activities need to be done more actively and effectively.

In terms of the Youth Year, it is necessary to carry out frequent inspections for timely resolution and supplement.

In terms of its activities, Dong Nai Youth Union ought to pay attention to establishing core development forces, and combining Youth Union activities with educational objectives.

In terms of the 70th Anniversary of Foundation of Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers, activities need to be designed specifically.
