Survey team investigated emigration and gender imbalance in Thanh Phu, Vinh Cuu

The report of the Commune People’s Committee shows that a great number of people has emigrated from other places to Dong Nai to work as workers for companies and enterprises in the area since a great number of industrial zones and clusters grow rapidly. (In 2004, the commune has a population of 11453, now it has a population of as many as 22,150). This situation has made it difficult to maintain security, order and traffic safety, especially difficult to provide study conditions for students. Therefore, the local authority has sent its request to the central authority to have a persistent orientation towards emigration between localities and provinces across the country.

On behalf of the survey team, Pham Thanh Cam, Vice Manager, Department of Social Issues – the Central Committee's Commission of Propaganda and Training, appreciated the concern local authorities and organizations given to immigrants in the area by doing well in educating birth control and enhancing measures to ensure security and order. He also requested the local authorities should do well in implementing the province’s programs on population issues to avoid the gender imbalance and grasping information about workers and number of immigrants to have better management in security.
