Press and Publishing Holds Meeting for the Second Half of 2011

The reports by Commission for Propaganda and Education Affairs at Dong Nai Party Committee and Department of Communications and Information show that in the first half of 2011 press and publications adhere to the Commission for Propaganda and Education Affairs at Dong Nai Party Committee’s directions, and that the Party and the government’s resolutions, guidelines, policies, and laws have been brought into reality.

Press has focused on carrying out propaganda programs concerning the implementation of the 9th Dong Nai Party Congress in 2011-2015 period’s resolutions, on making the 11th National Party Congress successful, on implementing the government’s resolution no. 11/NQ-CP and Dong Nai People’s Committee’s action programs and resolution no. 11 on solutions to curbing inflation curbing, stabilizing macro economy, preserving social security, on making the election of the 13th National Assembly deputies and of levels of People's Council delegates in 2011 – 2016 period successful, on socio-economic situation in the first half of 2011, on “Study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s ethical example” campaign, and on the issues that are related to sea and islands.

Thereby, Press has made contributions to release brief and latest news in all aspects to promptly reflect development on the fields, found and introduced new business models and, examples, new factors, examples for good deed and good person, protected and promoted national traditions and culture, fought against negative social evils, corruption, and waste.

Regarding publications in the first half of 2011, Department of Communications and Information issued 36 material publishing licenses required by law for non-business purposes in the province.

Department of Communications and Information has licensed agencies and units’ 25 newsletters.

Through inspection, most newsletters strictly conform to purposes, contents, and regulations stated in the license.

The contents reflect the activities of the sectors that provide information for local organizations, and businesses, give professional guidance to grassroots units, are in charge of propaganda programs on the Party’s guidelines and the government’s policies and laws, supply socio-economic and cultural information, and publicize the image of Vietnam’s people and country in general and of Dong Nai in particular.

In terms of e-portals, Dong Nai’s 39 government agencies, units, and unions have websites including 16 websites of government agencies, 5 websites of Party organs and unions, and 18 websites of businesses and administrative units.

Overall, the websites give a good reflection of the activities of the sectors, and agencies that have postings about specialized events and documents with the aim of enhancing emulation efficiency and professional guidelines for grassroots units, and of contributing to the dissemination of the information on socio-economic development, culture, society, science, technology, agriculture, and livestock industry.

Some websites with rich contents are Dong Nai People's Committee, Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology, Dong Nai People's Council, Dong Nai Customs, Bien Hoa People’s Committee, Long Khanh People's Committee, Xuan Loc People’s Committee, and Nhon Trach People's Committee.

At the meeting, participants units agreed upon propaganda plans in the second half of 2011 that focus on:

- The activities to celebrate important holidays and events, on the implementation of resolution no.01-NQ/TU on socio-economic targets and tasks 2011 and Dong Nai Party organs’ socio-economic development situation in the third quarter of 2011, on the implementation of the resolutions by the 9th Dong Nai Party Congress and by the 11th Party Congress, on propaganda programs concerning the victory of the election of the National Assembly deputies and of levels of People's Council delegates in 2011-2016 period, on the implementation of the government’s resolution no.11/NQ-CP, on the results achieved during the process of building a new countryside, and on the information on the East Sea issues that are associated with the province’s economic development of sea and islands.

- External affairs information propaganda; Youth Year 2011; Women Congress at all levels and the 8th Dong Nai Women Congress in 2011-2016 period; Veterans Congress at all levels and the 5th Vietnam Veterans Association Congress in 2012-2017 period, and  “Vienamese use  Vietnamese products” campaign.

Addressing the meeting, Head of Commission for Propaganda and Education Affairs at Dong Nai Party Committee Huynh Van Toi highly appreciated the contributions of the province’s news and press agencies and asked that news and press agencies focus on propaganda programs according to Commission for Propaganda and Education Affairs’ directions.

Toi suggested that in addition to propaganda affairs, news and press agencies, departments, committees, and sectors be required to focus on improving reporters, editors, and officers in charge of news’ professional skills and political level.
