According to the report of the provincial People’s Committee, for the first two months of the year, the whole province attracted US$ 41 million including the capital of the new projects and the increased capital of foreign-invested businesses, reaching 2% of the annual plan, equal to 16% of the same period of 2008.

Among the projects, there are three newly – licensed and three capital-increased ones. The newly – licensed projects are mainly the environmentally low – polluted ones (which make timber for household furniture and consumer goods). Up to the present, there have been 960 FDI (foreign direct investment) certificates of validity with the total registered capital of US$ 14.24 billion within Dong Nai province.
As to the situation of attracting the domestic capital investment, for two months, two investment certificates with the total capital of VND 49.7 billion, equivalent to its 8% of the same period of last year were issued. Private – business sector has the registered capital of VND 1,359 billion, reaching 7.2% of the year plan, equal to its 85% of the same period of last year. Up to now, there have been 8,321 private businesses with the total registered capital of VND 52,500 billion throughout the province.
