Department of Natural Resources and Environment Starts Implementing Tasks in 2011

In 2010, Dong Nai Department of Natural Resources and Environment took initiative to design plans and to implement the resolutions and directions by Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee and by Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee.

Simultaneously, Dong Nai Department of Natural Resources and Environment focused on accomplishing its tasks in 2010 and in 2006-2010 period, exceeding plan targets as follows:

+ Collected domestic waste accounts for 85.2 percent, exceeding plan targets by 5.2 percent.

+ Collected and treated medical waste and hazardous waste represent 100 percent and 61 percent, respectively.

+ The total area granted land use right, home ownership and other property ownership certificates accounts for 94.7 percent, exceeding by 4.7 percent according to plan targets.

Besides, land management was focused on, perfecting records and cadastral database continued being implemented and land census, plannings and making land use plans were completed.

Managing water resources and minerals made progress. More workload was coped with than in 2009.

Environmental management and protection were particularly taken interest in.

Many solutions to water pollution of in key areas and serious pollution-prone facilities were put forward.

At the meeting, Dong Nai Department of Natural Resources and Environment started implementing tasks in 2011 with main objectives:

+ To continue strengthening the State’s management of natural resources and environment in Dong Nai.

+ To focus on processing existing problems concerning waste management.

+ To prevent and limit increasing pollution and to improve environmental quality.

+ To promote inspection, especially to concentrate on implementing six targets and tasks and nine specific action programs.

Addressing the meeting, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee Ao Van Thinh highly appreciated Department of Natural Resources and Environment‘s efforts and achievements in 2010.

Also, Thinh noted that Dong Nai Department of Natural Resources and Environment’s targets were reached according to plans but not sustainable.

Collected special waste, especially medical waste was not safely disposed of and there remained a lot of land and environment violations.

Thinh proposed that Department of Natural Resources and Environment design its plans in 2011-2015 period, set up the environmental observation project in industrial parks and counsel Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee on moving pollution-prone manufacturers out of populated areas.

On this occasion, Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee awarded the excellent emulation flag to the collective of the Bureau of Land Management at Dong Nai Department of Natural Resources and Environment.

It also awarded excellent labor titles to seven units, certificates of merit to one collective and to 15 individuals with a lot of achievements in patriotic emulation movement in 2010.
