(CTT-Đong Nai) – Science and technology enterprise is an enterprise who manufactures and sells products which are the results of researching and developing technology, as well as conducting science and technology assignments. Its products can be material and immaterial, and they are receiving many preferential treatments.

Dr.Lai The Thong, Director of Department of Science and Technology said, despite getting many different benefits, there are only 6 science and technology enterprises in the province, a staggeringly low number compared to the number of normal ones.
These 6 enterprises are: Truong Thanh Khoan Limited Company (Tan Phu district), DONATECHNO Biotech Developing Joint Stock Company (Xuan Binhh ward, Long Khanh city), Ho Giap Viet Limited Company (Xuan Dong commune, Cam My district), Nhiet Mat Troi Technology Joint Stock Company (Ho Nai ward, Bien Hoa city), Phu An Hill Limited Company (Phu An commune, Tan Phu district), and Trong Duc Cacao Production Limited Company (Phu Hoa commune, Dinh Quan district).
According to the Director of Department of Science and Technology, the low number of science and technology enterprises is because in order to become one, a company has to meet some difficult criteria.
Specifically, pursuant to Degree No. 13/2019 dated February 1st, 2019 by the Government on science and technology enterprise, in order to be certified as one, a company: is found and operates according to Enterprise Law; is capable of producing or utilizing science and technology achievements verified, assessed and validated by the authorities; having at least 30% of the total revenue comes from manufacturing and selling products created from science and technology researches. If companies which are under 5-year old can satisfy two out of three requirements, they also can be certified as a science and technology enterprise.
Enterprises have to submitted every necessary file and document to the authorities: protection certificates of intellectual property; validation documents acknowledging new plant breeds, new animal breeds, new aquatic product breeds, new industry plant breeds; technical advancements; award certificates rewarding successful attempts in science and technology competitions held by government organizations; prizes/ IP patent transferring certificates…
Moreover, an enterprise also must have a production and business plan based on science and technology achievement.

According to a local survey, beside the difficult criteria, many companies has not completed necessary procedures to become a science and technology enterprise, as they do not know relevant information on the procedures. As such, holding conferences to propagate about these procedures is necessary.

We are figuring out the criteria to become a science and technology enterprise, and if the criteria are reasonable and there are a lot of benefit, then we will submit required documents to become one.
