Tri An ward eyes modern lakeside urban development

Covering an area of more than 660 sq.km, including over 45,500 hectares of forestry land and more than 12,900 hectares of water surface in Tri An Lake, along with a population of nearly 52,000 people, Tri An ward is one of the localities with considerable potential for the development of forest-based economy, ecological agriculture, aquaculture, and eco-tourism and resort services associated with nature conservation.

Developing urban areas near forests and lakes

Tri An ward has substantial potential for eco-tourism, as Tri An Lake is oriented to become a national tourist area. The ward also possesses advantages in clean energy production, with the Tri An Hydropower Plant and solar power projects. This area plays an important role in ensuring national energy security and supplying clean water to urban areas in Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City.

In particular, after becoming a ward, Tri An has received high expectations from residents to develop the ward as a symbol of ecology and development potential, leveraging its connection to Tri An Lake, which possesses all the conditions for green economic development.

Le Quoc Doanh, a retired official in Tri An ward, said he has spent nearly his entire life in the Tri An area. With Tri An officially becoming a ward, local residents are excited and confident that the new opportunities and conditions will create momentum for the development of the former revolutionary base, particularly in infrastructure, urban landscape, and the effective utilization of the region’s potential. According to Doanh, Tri An should be developed into an eco-tourism urban area. Along with the attention from city authorities, officials, Party members, residents, and businesses need to work together to fully tap into the area’s tourism potential while linking tourism development with the protection, preservation, and development of Tri An. Local residents place strong trust in the leadership and governance of the Party Committee and authorities of Tri An ward.

Nguyen Thi Thu Van, who lives in Vinh An 3 neighborhood, Tri An ward, said that after making efforts to fulfill the criteria for ward establishment, Tri An has now reached a new milestone. Local residents are delighted and hope the area will develop into a modern urban area in line with the expectations of city leaders. Van shared, “I hope the city will continue investing in infrastructure, especially transport routes connecting Tri An with major cities, to create favorable conditions for the ward’s socio-economic development. The city should also continue investing in eco-tourism development because the landscape around Tri An Lake is very beautiful. Only through tourism development can the local economy develop and people’s living standards be improved.”

In the coming period, Tri An is expected to serve as a connectivity hub linking neighboring localities through major transport routes, including National Highway 56B connected to Hieu Liem Bridge, Provincial Road 761, Ma Da Bridge, Ring Road 4, and Hieu Liem 2 Bridge connecting to Ho Chi Minh City. At the same time, urban infrastructure, particularly the transport network, is being gradually invested in, while the locality retains substantial land reserves for future expansion. Its distinctive landscape and environmental features also provide favorable conditions for the development of a green, smart, and sustainable urban area associated with green economy, circular economy, tourism, services, organic agriculture, high-tech agriculture, and related support service chains.

Efforts for local development

Speaking at the ceremony announcing the establishment of the ward, Nguyen Thanh Tu, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Tri An ward, stated that to promote the ward’s early development, priority tasks in the coming period will include urgently consolidating the organizational structure, supplementing the contingent of officials and civil servants, improving the quality and efficiency of public service delivery, and strengthening administrative discipline to build a people-centered administration.

In addition, Tri An ward will promote synchronized, modern, and sustainable urban planning, upgrading, and development, while strengthening urban order management. At the same time, the ward will focus on developing eco-tourism in line with the approved orientation, effectively tapping into local potential and advantages in association with environmental protection and sustainable development.

To ensure the comprehensive development of Tri An ward, priority in the coming years will be given to socio-cultural development, the effective implementation of social welfare policies, and improving the material and spiritual lives of local residents. The ward will continue to maintain national defense and security, ensure social order and safety, and build a safe and stable locality. At the same time, it will promote grassroots democracy, strengthen mass mobilization efforts, and mobilize the strength of the entire political system and public consensus in carrying out local development tasks.
