​(E. Portal of Dong Nai) - Department of Science and Technology held a scientific conference on Vision and solutions for the development of the science and technology industry towards 2030. Science and technology contribute positively to socio-economic development

Director of the Department of Science and Technology Lai The Thong said that in 2022 and 5 months of 2023, despite facing many difficulties due to the global economic slowdown, however, with the leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Councils, People's Committees at all levels, branches and the whole political system, the socio-economic situation, national defense - security in the province was still developing stably, higher than the general growth rate of the whole country; ranked 2nd in the Southeast region and 4th in the whole country.

To achieve the above success, the field of science and technology contributed significantly to the socio-economic development of the province. Dong Nai province identified science and technology as one of the key areas for economic and social development. Over the past time, Dong Nai had taken many measures to promote research and application of scientific and technological achievements into production and lives.

In the context of the fast and complicated world situation, the fourth industrial revolution was having a profound impact on all aspects of lives, the field of science and technology still faced a number of difficulties and obstacles such as: S&T market was still underdeveloped; The lack of synchronization between institutions and policies on the development of the S&T market made difficulties for the cooperation among enterprises, research institutes and universities.

Commercialization of research results and intellectual property of research institutes and universities was still limited. Technology trading activities mainly in the form of contracts for the purchase of machinery and equipment, technology transfer, and trading on technology platforms and e-commerce platforms were still limited. The intermediary organizations were still weak in apacity, there were not specialized intermediary organizations in important fields and goods.​

Comrade Ho Thanh Son, Vice Standing Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, emphasized that one of the important goals of the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term was to promote the application of science and technology and innovation creative; actively participated in the 4th industrial revolution; effectively exploited and used all resources, maximized potentials and advantages, improve the competitiveness for the province.

Over the past time, the science and technology industry of Dong Nai province had achieved many achievements, serving the cause of industrialization and modernization in the context of a Socialist oriented market economy and international integration. Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee had also issued plans and documents directing all levels and branches to implement science and technology activities in the province.

In particular, focusing on research, proposed the Central to perfect policies and laws on science, technology and innovation in accordance with the market mechanism and practical conditions in the locality. At the same time, developed a strategy for science-technology development and innovation until 2030; developed the potential of science and technology in terms of science and technology infrastructure, information and communication technology, transferred of science and technology application, promoted the development of science and technology market, strengthened linkages, cooperation and integration international.

At the seminar, experts and scientists presented 6 topics and discussed focusing on 3 main issues including: Innovation, development of science and technology network; digital conversion; develop human resources serving science and technology.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Son Hung said that the comments at the seminar had assessed the current state of the science and technology industry in Dong Nai province. Specialized agencies will rely on that to advice, propose and consult the Provincial People's Committee on solutions and breakthrough goals to implement the strategic planning for the development of the science and technology industry to 2030.Thereby, making an important contribution to the local socio-economic development.​​
