Long Thanh district: Motivation from the airport city

​(CTT-Dong Nai) – In the province's urban development vision, with Long Thanh international airport as an advantage, the airport city is designated as the core of the locality's strategic urban development plan.

Met and exceeded many goals
Compared with other localities, for the 2020-2025 term, the Party Committee of Long Thanh district also had a central and heavy task to focus on, which was site clearance for the national key international airport project. However, with high political determination, the district's Party Committee focused on leading and directing the implementation of the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress, the Resolution of the 12th District Party Congress, for the 2020-2025 term and had achieved many positive results.
According to Member of Standing Central Party Committee, Secretary of Long Thanh District Party Committee Duong Minh Dung, after two and a half years of implementation, compared with the targets of the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress, the district has achieved and exceeded 7 out of 12 targets, 5 targets are being planned to achieve by the end of the term; it is estimated that by 2025, all targets will have been met and exceeded.
Compared with the targets of the Resolution of the 12th Congress of the District Party Committee, there are 24/38 targets that have been achieved and exceeded, 13 targets are being planned to be achieved by the end of the term; it is estimated that by 2025, all targets will have met and exceeded the plan (with 1 target is not evaluated).
The economic structure continues to shift in the right direction of industry - service - agriculture. The mobilization of investment resources focused on establishing the system of socio-economic infrastructure and achieved good results. State management has made many progresses. Party building and rectification; civil service has achieved many positive results. Breakthrough areas are being led and directed which managed to achieve many initial results...
Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Linh emphasized that Long Thanh will be an airport city in the future, so the requirements and criteria set for Long Thanh will be higher than in other localities. Therefore, the city must distinguish itself and achieve noticeable breakthroughs in all fields. The planning and planning management must be more standardized and worthy. Long Thanh must also try to attract investors in order to promote public investment and social investment in the area quickly and effectively, creating motivation for Long Thanh to be worthy of the development of the future city…

Anticipating upcoming trend
According to Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of the National Assembly Quan Minh Cuong, in order to sustain the development of the locality in the future, Long Thanh needs to have a forward-thinking mindset in implementing the transformation of a new development model. In attracting investors, the locality needs to be selective and aims at high-tech, highly intellectual, and environmentally-friendly projects, and at the same time, they themselves must create a quality environment for projects that are worthy of the district's potential and position.

At the same time, it is necessary to pay close attention to investment to prepare a highly-skilled labor force; capable of well executing the planning, training, refresher courses and allocation of staff to meet the requirements when Long Thanh airport comes into operation.

Mr. Thai Bao, Member of the Standing Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of Provincial People's Council, said that Long Thanh must also keep an eye on the management of planning, land and construction order. These works must be done strictly and orderly, because if it is not executed well, it will leave serious consequences. The locality also needs to focus its resources to develop traffic and technical infrastructure to connect Long Thanh international airport. On the issue of resettlement arrangement and site clearance, the district must determine the key tasks.

Mr. Duong Minh Dung Member of the Standing Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Long Thanh District Party Committee emphasized that in the remaining half of the term, the district will continue to promote the achieved results, focusing on implementing the goals and tasks that are still behind schedule or unfulfilled; identifying subjective and objective causes and developing specific and practical action plans.

Long Thanh will continue to focus on carefully implementing its general planning. Reviewing industrial planning, construction planning, land planning... in line with the general plan in order to maximize the advantages of the locality. Strengthening the state management of planning, natural resources, land, construction and environment. Focusing on promptly and quickly settling people's complaints and petitions related to the implementation of the Long Thanh International Airport project, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of the people in accordance with the law, in a timely manner; correcting and resolutely handling cases of violations.

Additionally, concentrating the district's resources to achieve breakthroughs in order to create major changes in each field according to the Resolution of the Party Congress of the province and district set out. Continuing to rationally and efficiently allocate state resources and adopt a mechanism to effectively mobilize social resources for investment in developing socio-economic infrastructure in a synchronous and modern direction. ​
