Labor Market in Dong Nai: Many Job Positions Await Workers

​(News Portal – Dong Nai) - Since the beginning of the year, businesses in Dong Nai have been actively recruiting to meet the current production demands. However, skilled workers in these fields have yet to satisfy the "thirst" for labor of these businesses. 

Mechanical engineering is a field that many businesses are actively recruiting for. 

Skilled labor is always prioritized

The labor market in the first quarter of 2024 shows that almost all businesses have been recruiting workers to serve production after a rebound in orders. In addition to recruiting general workers, technical positions that require skills and work experience are highly sought after by businesses. Among these, mechanical engineering, industrial electricity, technical skills, machine maintenance, electronics, and garment making are the industries that businesses are currently focusing on.

Recent job exchanges have shown that, in addition to increasing the recruitment of general workers to compensate for the number of workers who have left, businesses are also recruiting a significant number of workers in fields such as mechanical engineering, technology, automobile assembly, electricity, electronics, refrigeration, and electronic assembly. For example, Vacpro Vietnam Co., Ltd. (in Nhon Trach district) is currently in need of design engineers, production technical staff, and quality control staff. From the beginning of the year until now, the company has implemented various recruitment methods, including bonuses for employees who refer their friends to work, but the labor supply is still insufficient. Businesses hope to attract experienced workers and vocational school graduates to come directly to the company for interviews.

Hyosung Vietnam Co., Ltd. (in Nhon Trach district), since the end of 2023, has been continuously recruiting mechanical technicians, industrial electricians, and automotive technology workers with monthly salaries ranging from 9-14 million VND, along with many benefits and policies to attract workers. However, the number of workers has yet to meet the production demands.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tan, a recruitment officer at the company, stated that with the goal of constantly improving product quality, for many years now, the company has been incorporating technology into production, making workers with technical skills a top priority. These workers will enjoy more benefits after recruitment. "Currently, the company's orders are stable, ensuring regular employment for workers, and the demand for labor will increase. However, it is still challenging for businesses to choose suitable workers for each job position," shared Mr. Tan.

Many attractive job positions

At a recent trade union meeting, union officials reported that compared to the first quarter of 2023, this year's labor market has shown signs of improvement. Businesses are competing for workers and offering attractive incomes to attract labor. Therefore, workers have more options to choose a suitable profession, find a good working environment, and enjoy guaranteed policies. However, experienced and skilled workers still find it easier to find jobs than unskilled workers.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Duc, Deputy Chairman of the Trade Union in Trang Bom district, said that there are many small and medium-sized businesses in the district that are hiring additional workers, focusing on fields such as mechanical engineering and electronics. For general workers, businesses are recruiting between 500-1,000 workers, while for technical workers, the demand is between 50-100 workers. However, all businesses have expressed difficulties in recruiting workers, and the quality of the labor force does not meet the requirements for each job position.

Currently, most businesses are applying modern technology to production and require high-skilled and high-quality labor. Global Powersports Manufacturing Incorporation (specializing in mechanical production for export in Trang Bom district) has invested in various technologies such as welding robots, CNC machines, and automated machines for production. To meet the production demands, the company has collaborated with vocational schools, providing internships for students and hiring them after graduation.

According to the Dong Nai Province Job Placement Center, in the first three months of the year, the center has provided job counseling for nearly 10,000 workers and referred job opportunities to 1,256 individuals. Furthermore, the center has assisted in connecting jobs for approximately 400 ex-military personnel with businesses that have a high demand for recruitment in the province. In just the first two weeks of April, businesses have sought to recruit nearly 5,000 workers for various positions and diverse industries. ​
