Inaugurating 2 highway projects Mai Son - National Highway 45 and Phan Thiet - Dau Giay

TTDT - On April 29, the Ministry of Transport collaborated with the People's Committees of Thanh Hoa and Binh Thuan provinces held the inauguration and traffic clearance of 2 construction investment component projects of Mai Son - National Highway 45 and Phan Thiet - Dau Giay belonging to the project building number 1 of expressway sections on the North - South route in the East of the period of 2017 - 2020.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate the component projects Mai Son - National Highway 45, Phan Thiet - Dau Giay at Phan Thiet intersection, Ham Kiem commune, Ham Thuan Nam district, Binh Thuan province.
The ceremony was held online at 2 end points including the main end point at Phan Thiet intersection, Ham Kiem commune, Ham Thuan Nam district, Binh Thuan province (belonging to Phan Thiet - Dau Giay section) and the end point at the South of Thung Thi tunnel, Ha Linh commune, Ha Trung district, Thanh Hoa province (belonging to Mai Son section - National Highway 45).
At the main end point, the ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Vice President of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai. At the end point in Thanh Hoa province, there were the attendance of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and leaders of central departments, ministries and branches. At the main end point, there was also the participation of leaders of Dong Nai province: Cao Tien Dung, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Thi Hoang, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee; Hoang Thi Bich Hang, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council.
Two component projects Mai Son - National Highway 45, Phan Thiet - Dau Giay have a total length of more than 160 km. In particular, the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway project has a length of about 99 km passing through the provinces of Binh Thuan (more than 47.5 km in length) and Dong Nai province (more than 51 km in length). The project has the starting point located on the route from National Highway 1 to My Thanh, Binh Thuan province (the end point of the component project is Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet section); the end point connects with the highway Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay (at Lo 25 commune, Thong Nhat district, Dong Nai province). Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway is invested and built up to the standard of a grade A highway with a design speed of 120km/h. Phase 1, the project is invested and built with a scale of 4 lanes for 2-way traffic and 2 lanes for emergency stop. Total investment in phase 1 is more than 12.5 trillion VND.
Once completed, the project will shorten the journey from Ho Chi Minh City to tourist centers and open up investment opportunities in the South Central region; overcome traffic congestion and reduce frequent traffic accidents on National Highway 1, solve the demand for passenger and cargo transport between the central hub of the Southern Key Economic Zone with the Southeast region and South Central Coast as well as from North to South.

At the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh officially announced the inauguration of the projects. According to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, these are important routes, helping to shorten travel time and it is convenience and safety between Binh Thuan - Ho Chi Minh City, among Hanoi - Ninh Binh - Thanh Hoa and other localities, connecting the capital Hanoi and the central region, Ho Chi Minh City with the central region. Putting them into operation at this time is even more meaningful when people's travel and tourism demand increases during the holidays.
The Prime Minister also emphasized that infrastructure development, especially transport infrastructure is one of the strategic breakthroughs of our Party and State. Over the last years, the Party and State have always paid great attention to and devoted great resources to developing transport infrastructure, investing with focus in key region in order to create an important driving force for socio-economic development.
Right after the end of the inauguration ceremony, functional forces will organize traffic, guide and divide traffic to serve the travel needs for the people.
