Highly focused on implementing highway projects

​(News Portal – Dong Nai) - On March 5, the National Assembly's supervision team led by Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai conducted supervision of the Provincial People's Committee on the implementation of Resolution No. 43/2022/ QH15 dated January 11, 2022 of the National Assembly on fiscal and monetary policies to support the socio-economic recovery and development program and resolutions of the National Assembly on a number of important national projects until the end 2023 in the province. 

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai discussed with Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Quan Minh Cuong at the construction site of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project. 

Welcoming and participating in the supervision session on the part of the provincial leaders were Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Quan Minh Cuong; Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Thai Bao.

Reporting to the supervision team on the implementation of the National Assembly's resolutions on the Long Thanh International Airport project phase 1, the representative of Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) said, up to now, the progress of bidding packages is basically meeting the set schedule.

For the most important package of the project, construction and installation of Long Thanh Airport passenger terminal equipment phase 1, ACV and the contractors are trying to speed up the progress so the construction can be completed in June 2026, or at the very least on September 2, 2026, earlier than the contract's date which is in November 2026.

Regarding the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway and Beltway 3 - Ho Chi Minh City projects, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc said that the locality is implementing solutions to speed up their progress. In particular, for the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project, site clearance work has been assigned to two units: the Provincial Compensation, Site Clearance and Resettlement Support Project Management Board and the Provincial Resettlement Support Project Management Board. People's Committee of Long Thanh District also completed the commitment to the Government to hand over the project site before June 30.

At the supervision session, the Provincial People's Committee also proposed that the National Assembly consider and approve solutions to speed up the progress of projects such as: allowing localities to arrange resettlement of households under the Bien Bien. Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project into Loc An - Binh Son resettlement area; allows the use of about 5 million m³ of land from the Long Thanh Airport project to serve the construction of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project.

Speaking at the conclusion of the supervision session, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai said that through supervision, despite many difficulties, the province has also tried to focus on implementing key national projects. In the coming time, the province needs to focus more on the rest of the highway projects related to the locality; how to ensure synchronous connection with Ho Chi Minh City and localities, without being falling behind; lacking, the province needs to proactively propose implementation mechanisms if none is available. ​

​Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai also said that regarding Dong Nai's recommendations to speed up the implementation of 3 important national projects, the supervision team takes notes and will study the province's recommendations to report to the National Assembly. For recommendations falling under the authority of the Government and ministries and departments, the monitoring team will research and appropriately present them in monitoring reports and resolutions submitted to the National Assembly.

Previously, on the same morning, the National Assembly's supervision team also conducted an inspection at the Long Thanh Airport project and the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway.
