Attracting investments in livestock farming

Dong Nai is a key livestock producing province of the country, especially in developing livestock production in a disease-free chain. Therefore, since early on, the province has attracted many large corporations and enterprises to invest in modern industry, as well as applying modern technology in modern livestock production chain in a closed process from breeding to processing, and export.

As a result, Dong Nai province becomes the animal feed production hub of the country with about 40 animal feed factories capable of reaching a total design capacity of over 3 million tons of products a year. Mr. Nguyen Kim Doan, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Livestock Association comments that the animal feed processing industry currently attracts mostly large domestic corporations and enterprises as well as foreign-invested enterprises. Because competition is on the rise, even small and medium-sized processing enterprises are interested in building a closed production chain, investing in technology and machinery, and operating more and more professionally to gain a foothold in the market.

In the field of livestock product processing, the province is also an attractive destination for corporations and businesses to invest in large projects and modern technology to meet both domestic and export markets. For example, Koyu & Unitek Co., Ltd. in Bien Hoa City is a pioneer enterprise in exporting processed chicken products to the Japanese market. General Director of C.P. Opportunities to attract investment in agricultural product processing

The total area of perennial trees in the province is currently about nearly 170 thousand hectares. Of which, the area of fruit trees is around 77 thousand hectares. The province has a wide range of fruit trees with the scale and productivity among the top in the country such as: bananas with more than 14 thousand hectares, ranked 1^st in the country; mango area of more than 12 thousand hectares, the second highest in the country; grapefruit 10.6 thousand hectares, ranked 2nd in the country; nearly 11.4 thousand hectares of durian plantation, ranked 4th in the country... In the province, there have been many large-scale, concentrated specialized fruit growing areas such as: bananas in Trang Bom and Thong Nhat districts; durian in Cam My, Tan Phu, Xuan Loc districts and Long Khanh City; mangoes in Dinh Quan and Xuan Loc districts; citrus trees in Vinh Cuu district;…

With the advantages from forming large material areas for industrial crops and fruit trees, the province has attracted many large corporations to invest in deep processing of these products. In the field of instant coffee processing, currently across the country there are about 20 factories processing pure instant coffee and mixed instant coffee with a total capacity of over 75 thousand tons/year. However, the three processing factories in Dong Nai province alone, Vinacafé Bien Hoa, Nestlé Vietnam and Tin Nghia instant coffee factory, account for about 2/3 of the country's output. ​

Dong Nai province is attracting businesses to invest in the field of agricultural product processing, especially fruit processing, so as to reduce raw exports to have more sustainable output and create added value for agricultural products.
