Dong Nai celebrates Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day with presentation of its 37th Golden Pen Press Awards

At the gathering, delegates reviewed the 101-year tradition of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 – 2026). Over the past 101 years, generations of Vietnamese revolutionary journalists, including those in Dong Nai, have consistently strived to play a pioneering role on the ideological and cultural front, acting as a voice of the Party, the State, and socio-political organizations, while serving as a trusted forum for the people.

Speaking at the gathering, the Deputy Head of the CPC’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization acknowledged and commended the achievements and contributions of the city's revolutionary press in recent years, particularly during major events such as Party congresses at all levels and elections of deputies to the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels. Notably, regarding the event on April 30, 2026, when Dong Nai officially became Vietnam’s seventh city, Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio, Television, together with journalists and press agencies both inside and outside the city, focused on disseminating and spreading a positive image of Dong Nai as a green, civilized, modern, and compassionate city.

The Deputy Head of the CPC’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization emphasized that throughout the process of building and developing Dong Nai into a modern, civilized, and compassionate urban area, the local press has made significant contributions to disseminating the Party's guidelines and orientations, the State's policies and laws. The press has reflected the legitimate thoughts and aspirations of the people, fostered social consensus, and strengthened public trust in the Party and the government.

To support communications for the establishment of Dong Nai City and its official launch event, more than 800 articles were published to promote and highlight the image, people, and achievements of Dong Nai across various fields. This clearly demonstrated the important contributions of reporters, editors, and journalists to the overall success of the event.

The Deputy Head of the CPC’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization said that over its 37 editions, the Dong Nai Golden Pen Press Awards have become a prestigious award and served as a meaningful professional platform, helping identify and honor high-quality journalistic works and dedicated journalists. The works honored at the gathering not only demonstrated the political mettle, professional expertise, and social responsibility of journalists but also vividly reflected the achievements and Dong Nai City's aspirations for development in the new era.

The Deputy Head of the CPC’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization emphasized that the leadership of the CPC, People's Council, People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city expects journalists to adhere closely to the purposes and principles of the profession, particularly through the proper implementation of the Party's viewpoints and orientations in line with Directive 05-CT/TW dated March 30, 2026, issued by the Politburo on strengthening Party leadership over the press and media in the new situation. This includes continuing to promote the glorious tradition of Vietnam's revolutionary press and upholding political mettle, professional ethics, and social responsibility.

Journalists must continuously innovate and creatively apply digital transformation in press activities, particularly by identifying digital transformation as a strategic solution. Innovating leadership and management approaches is a key factor in advancing the development of the press and media. Strengthening the revolutionary press's presence on digital platforms is a crucial measure for asserting a leading role on the information and communications front in cyberspace. The press must make use of various internet-based media formats to help spread positive information, “promoting positive content to counter harmful narratives,” and create a mainstream and official flow of information in cyberspace.

Authorized by the CPC, the People's Council, the People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, the Deputy Head of the CPC’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization presented a bouquet to celebrate the 101st anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

On this occasion, the Dong Nai Journalists Association announced that the work titled “For a future without HIV/AIDS: When the red ribbon becomes the morning sun” by the author group comprising Phan Thi Kim Ngan, Tran Thi Ngan Trieu, Tran Thi Kim Thuy, Pham Thi Bich Nhan, Ngo Nguyen Chi Cuong, Vu Ngoc Diem Thuy, Luu Quang Son, Tran Minh Lap, Nguyen Hoang Huan, Do Thi Dieu Hien, and Bui Le Nguyen won the C Prize at the 20th National Press Awards in 2025. At the same time, 16 outstanding journalistic works of the 37th Dong Nai Golden Pen Press Awards were announced and honored, including one first prize, three second prizes, five third prizes, and seven consolation prizes.
