Completing provincial planning documents on schedule with the highest quality

​(News Portal – Dong Nai) - On September 19, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc chaired a working session with departments, offices, localities and a joint venture of consulting units to prepare provincial planning for the 2021-2030 period, vision to 2050 to receive reports on population, urban and rural development, and land allocation plans.

At the meeting, the consulting unit proposed a population growth scenario for the entire province in the 2021-2030 period of 2.3%/year.

Meanwhile, with the urban and rural development plan, the consulting unit proposed that by 2030, Dong Nai province will have 30 urban areas, including: 01 Class-1 urban area (Bien Hoa city); 02 Class-2 urban areas; 02 Class-3 urban areas; 06 Class-4 urban areas and 19 Class-5 urban areas. However, to fit the remaining time under the planning period, development plan for a number of class V urban areas have been pushed back to after 2030.

Regarding the land allocation plan, according to the proposal of the consulting unit, important land types such as land used for transport, land in industrial parks, land areas that serve national defense and security purposes all increased higher than the assigned Prime Minister's target.

Speaking at the session, for the three petitioned topics at the working session, the Acting Chairman said that the Provincial People's Committee basically agreed on the scenario of Dong Nai province's population growth in the coming period is around 2.3%/year. The Department of Health and the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs need to provide proposals to naturally increase population as well as plans to attract labor resources to the province to work, contributing to promoting urbanization and population growth. 

With the urban and rural development plan, the Department of Construction has researched and proposed solutions to ensure the province's urbanization targets are met by 2030.

As for the land allocation plan, it is necessary to take consideration following the intention of maximum expansion of land use targets and propose adjustments to the targets assigned by the Prime Minister.

Regarding the progress of provincial planning in general, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc said that according to the required progress, the provincial planning dossier must be submitted to the Ministry of Planning and Investment in September 2023. Therefore, departments, offices and localities (especially the 7 units that have not yet commented) urgently must voice their opinions for the consulting unit consortium to summerize and complete the report. The petition must be completed before September 25^th.
