Commencing the construction of component 1 project of Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway project

​(CTT-Đong Nai) – On the morning of June 18^th, the provincial People's Committee has begun the work on the construction of component 1 Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway project phase 1.  Attending the ceremony were Mr. Duong Minh Dung, Member of the Provincial Standing Party Committee, Secretary of Long Thanh district Party Committee; and leaders of departments, offices and 50 households whose lands were in the project area.

The component 1 project has a length of 16km, starting at km0+000 and connects to Vo Nguyen Giap highway (1 National Highway, bypassing Bien Hoa city) at Phuoc Tan ward, Bien Hoa city. The end point locates at km16+000 connects to the starting point of a component 2 project in Long An commune, Long Thanh district.

The project has a total investment of around 6 trillion VNĐ, with the construction cost of 3.100 billion VNĐ, and 2.800 billion VNĐ for site clearance. The entire project is funded using State budget.

​After finished, the expressway will have 6 lanes for motor vehicles, 2 lanes for emergency stops, 2 curbs and a median. In which, the scale of the first phase includes 4 lanes, with a designated speed of 100km/h. The project is planned to complete in 2025, and put into operation synchronously in 2026.

Mr. Ngo The An, Director of the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, considered this as an important project that connects economic centers, seaports; maximizes the potential of Cai Mep – Thi Vai ports, and meets the transportation's needs.

In addition, this project can generate space and motivation to develop the South Eastern region's technical and social infrastructures, ensuring the national defense and security capability, improving economic competitiveness.

Mr. Le Hoang Son, Vice Chairman of Long Thanh district People's Committee, said the phase 1 of Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway project was approved for investment with a total length of 53,7 km (the section going through Long Thanh district is 28,3 km in length). This project needs to recover over 456 ha of land, 229 ha of which locate in Long Thanh district. At the ceremony, leaders of Long Thanh district People's Committee promised to work in tandem with other organizations to compensate for the site clearance, ensure the project progress; at the same time, provide support and help affected residents to settle down. ​
