Businesses Experience a Surge in Orders

​(News Portal – Dong Nai) – At this time, many businesses in Dong Nai are ramping up production to meet the year-end demand for goods. Companies are enthusiastic, reporting that they have secured orders through the end of 2024, and even into 2025, ensuring stable employment and regular income for workers.

Positive Employment Outlook

In recent days, the production workshops of Scavi Joint Stock Company (Bien Hoa Industrial Zone 2) have been bustling with activity. With abundant orders, workers are continuously engaged, showing high levels of responsibility and morale. Ms. Le Thi Hoe, who has worked at the company for eight years, shared that stable employment and opportunities for overtime have greatly boosted employees' spirits.

Mr. Ngo Truong An, Chairman of the Labor Union at Scavi Joint Stock Company, noted that since the beginning of the year, employment at the company has been stable. The business has received numerous orders and is currently recruiting more workers to meet the year-end production demand. However, recruitment remains a significant challenge. To enhance productivity and meet signed orders, the company has focused on employee welfare, recently organizing "Labor Union Meals" to ensure the nutrition and health of its workers.​

Mr. Nguyen Truong Tho, Chairman of the Labor Union at Broad Bright Industrial Co., Ltd. (Ho Nai Industrial Zone, Trang Bom District), shared that orders have been steady since the beginning of the year. As a result, more than 300 workers have secured stable employment and regular overtime opportunities to increase their incomes.

“To boost worker morale, during the recent National Day holiday on September 2, the company awarded bonuses ranging from 100,000 to 500,000 VND per employee, depending on their tenure. The company has also launched a production drive to increase efficiency in the final months of the year," Mr. Tho added.

Wage Increases and Bonuses to Motivate Workers

To encourage workers, many companies have implemented wage increases, performance bonuses, and even gold rewards. For instance, Yuen Foong Yu Paper Enterprise (Vietnam) Company Limited (Long Thanh District) raised wages for over 350 workers starting July 1, 2024, with increases ranging from 300,000 VND to over 1 million VND per person, depending on position and rank. These increases exceeded the mandated minimum. Although the amounts varied, all employees were pleased with the additional income to help cover living expenses.

Mr. Tran Xuan Quyet, a worker in the company's automated machinery department, said that the wage increases fairly reflected the effort and dedication of the workers, helping them meet both work and family needs. In addition to raising wages, the company has also focused on improving benefits, such as organizing employee trips, offering attendance bonuses, and providing meal allowances. Furthermore, the company holds annual dialogues to listen to workers' concerns and desires, aiming to improve the working environment.

Dong Phu Cuong Joint Stock Company (Dinh Quan District) recently rewarded workers who had made positive contributions to the company's production efforts in the first half of 2024. Bonuses of 1 million VND were given to employees who had worked for a full year, and 500,000 VND to those employed for less than a year (this applies to official workers who have signed labor contracts). The company, which currently has a strong order pipeline, is ramping up efforts to enhance employee welfare, motivating workers to increase production and retain skilled labor.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tuyet, Chairwoman of the Labor Union in Bien Hoa Industrial Zone, noted that after a challenging period, many businesses have now secured new orders, stabilized production, and are actively recruiting for various positions. Regarding regional minimum wage increases, as of now, 100% of businesses in the industrial zone have reported wage increases for their workers, ranging from 180,000 to 350,000 VND per person per month. Additionally, many recreational and cultural activities have been reinstated to enhance the spiritual well-being of workers.

According to the Provincial Labor Federation, a positive sign is that besides recovering orders, businesses are also paying attention to policies and benefits for workers. Specifically, following the Government's Decree 74 issued on June 30, 2024, regarding regional minimum wage increases for contracted workers, nearly 1,300 businesses have adjusted salaries, with the lowest increase being 100,000 VND and the highest over 6.8 million VND per person per month. These wage increases have helped improve the living standards of workers, motivating them to work more effectively and remain committed to the development of the businesses.
