assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to preside over and coordinate
with relevant sectors and localities to develop a roadmap and plan to trace the
origin of essential products at markets.

Develop a project tracing food products
Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Pham Van Cuong said that to carry out assigned tasks, the Department of Industry and Trade had coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to build a project to trace the origin of essential foods of animal origin in Dong Nai province in the period of 2019 - 2020, oriented to 2025.
The Provincial People's Committee then issued Decision No. 4238/QD-UBND dated November 10, 2020, which assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to take the lead in advising on implementation, and the Department of Industry and Trade to coordinate the implementation of relevant contents. The Department of Industry and Trade held meetings with relevant sectors, units, localities and representatives of supermarkets, convenience store chains in the province, and market management boards/market cooperatives to discuss and develop the Project for tracing the origins of essential foods of animal origin in Dong Nai province.
During the 2021-2023 period, a number of units have registered to participate in the project. In particular, regarding modern distribution channels, there are 4 supermarkets (including: Big C Dong Nai, Big C Tan Hiep, Winmart Long Thanh, MM Mega Market); 19 convenience stores belonging to the Co.op Food chain, C.P Vietnam Corporation, Bat Gioi Clean Food Company Limited.
Regarding traditional distribution channels, there are 11 markets including: Phuong Lam - Tan Phu market (3 small traders), Long Thanh market (3 small traders), Phuoc Thai - Long Thanh market (3 small traders), Bao Hoa - Xuan Loc market (29 traders), Suoi Cat - Xuan Loc market (3 traders), Hoa An - Bien Hoa market (3 traders), Dau Giay - Thong Nhat market (3 traders), Dong Hoa - Trang Bom market (3 small traders), Vinh An - Vinh Cuu market (3 small traders), Xuan Thanh - Long Khanh market (3 small traders), Xuan Que - Cam My market (3 small traders).
Apply technological solutions in the retrieval system
Mr. Pham Van Cuong said that in the coming time, the Department would coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, departments, sectors and localities to continue to mobilize and propagate to modern and traditional distribution units in the province to participate in the project tracing of essential foods of animal origin. Coordinating with localities to select communes with markets in the new and advanced rural commune registration planning for the 2021-2025 period to participate in the project.
In addition, the department would coordinate with the interdisciplinary inspection and examination team on food safety during the inspection process, and encourage the application of technological solutions in the facility's origin traceability system (traceability stamps to be used instead of paper records), in order to increase the ability to interoperate and connect information to serve the origin traceability of relevant parties. At the same time, coordinating with the People's Committees of districts and cities to direct relevant departments and market management boards/cooperatives to check traceability information of pork imported into the market, supervise and support traceability stamping. of small businesses participating in the project.
Emphasizing in concluding this question at the recent 14th Session of the Provincial People's Council, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Thai Bao suggested that in the coming time, the Department of Industry and Trade should continue to preside over and coordinate with related sectors, authorities and localities to develop roadmaps and plans to trace the origin of essential products at markets. Continuing to replicate the model of safe food business locations in the form of safe food supply chains at markets in the province.
In particular, paying attention to promoting propaganda work so that organizations and individuals can understand more about the benefits of building safe food sales points and traceability of product origin to encourage and motivate organizations and individual participants; focusing on investing in equipment and applying information technology in retrieving essential products, helping people feel safe when consuming essential products.
