Accelerate the Progress of Upgrading Provincial Road 25B

​(News Portal – Dong Nai) - Provincial Road 25B is the main route for traveling to industrial zones in Nhon Trach district, so it is heavily trafficked by trucks and container vehicles daily. During peak hours, when workers commute to and from work, the route often becomes overcrowded, leading to frequent traffic congestion.

Given this situation, not only local residents but also other commuters passing through the area are eagerly awaiting the road's upgrade and expansion to make travel safer and more convenient.  
Frequent Traffic Congestion

Recently, the People's Committee of Nhon Trach District requested that the Provincial People's Committee instruct relevant agencies to allocate funding so that the Provincial Transportation Investment and Construction Project Management Unit can soon commence the Provincial Road 25B Upgrade Project. The upgrade would cover the section from Nhon Trach District's center to National Highway 51.

Ms. Nguyen Thi My, a resident of Long Tan commune, Nhon Trach District, shared that traffic congestion regularly occurs on Road 25B between 6:30 AM and 7:30 AM. Large and small vehicles crowd together, inching forward slowly, making it difficult for pedestrians to cross the street.

“If this road is upgraded and expanded, the residents living along the road will be very happy. We hope the road construction begins soon and is completed quickly to make travel more convenient for everyone," said Ms. My.

Similarly, Mr. Nguyen Quang Dang, a resident of Phu Dong commune, Nhon Trach District, expressed his desire for the road to be completed soon to ensure safer travel. Currently, the traffic demand on Road 25B is high, but the road is narrow and unable to meet the needs for commuting and economic development in the area, not to mention the road's lack of safety, as Mr. Dang explained.

Accelerating The Project's Progress

According to the Nhon Trach District People's Committee, the section of Road 25B from Nhon Trach District's center to National Highway 51 is the gateway to the district's center, making it essential to invest in upgrades as soon as possible.

District leaders noted that around 80% of the project's land has already been cleared. For the remaining area, Nhon Trach and Long Thanh districts have committed to completing land clearance and handing it over to the construction units on schedule. However, the project is facing challenges, particularly in relocating existing technical infrastructure.

Specifically, the existing D600 and D800 water supply pipelines, managed and operated by Dong Nai Water Supply Joint Stock Company, are posing a challenge. The estimated cost for reinforcing and protecting the D800 water pipeline and relocating the existing D600 pipeline along Road 25B exceeds 103 billion VND.

Meanwhile, the project's construction estimate is nearing the total investment limit. Adding the relocation and reinforcement costs would push the project over its budget, requiring adjustments to the investment plan, delaying the approval of the design, and preventing the disbursement of allocated funds for 2024. Therefore, the relevant units have proposed that Dong Nai Water Supply Joint Stock Company be responsible for relocating and reinforcing the pipelines. Additionally, they suggested that the PPC assign Nhon Trach Water Supply Joint Stock Company to relocate the D200 pipeline, with the costs covered by the project's budget.

“The upgrade of Road 25B from Nhon Trach District's center to National Highway 51 is a project many people are eagerly awaiting. Once expanded, the road will greatly facilitate commuting for residents, reduce traffic accidents, and enhance the transportation of goods, as well as improve the connectivity between Nhon Trach and surrounding areas," Mr. Nguyen Quang Dang of Phu Dong commune, Nhon Trach District, recommended.  ​
