Red Cross Association of the Southern East provinces: nearly VND130 billion of total value in 2007.

    Report on activities of emulation group 8 of Red Cross Association shown that the total cost of activities has been nearly VND130 billion in the past year (Dong Nai alone attained nearly VND36 billion). Social relief activities were deployed widely and gained satisfactory results. The whole group including provinces of Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Binh Thuan, Binh Thuan, and Dong Nai mobilized expenses to build 735 compassion houses worth more than VND6.7 billion; granting over 8,300 scholarships to poor students; supporting capital for families with difficult conditions; visiting and burying cadres or members of Red Cross Association. Besides, Red Cross Association of localities regularly maintained “charitable soup pots” and “charitable meals” at hospitals; caring and helping Agent Orange victims and disabled people; and providing timely support to localities affected by natural calamities, etc.

    Addressing at the conference, Bui Ngoc Thanh highly appreciated activities of Red Cross Association of the Southern East provinces in the past year. She also hoped that in the coming time, Red Cross Association of localities continued promoting achievements, enhancing responsibility, boosting cooperation relationship to help each other in order to accomplish the assigned tasks.

    Previously, on December 26^th, at Dong Nai Rubber company, delegates who participated in the hand-over conference had discussed the quality enhancement of association and members; granting 10 compassion houses to poor families in Long Khanh town.
